Elderly Aunt and Uncle 3 months behind on mortgage payments - their sons who contributed to making mortgage payments have been laid off from their jobs. Aunt and Uncle do not occupy the house but house in their name. Loan with BOA - since non owner occupied they do not qualify for loan modification - but have been offered help, if they qualify under two programs: 1. rolled outstanding payments back into loan or 2. Home Savers Assistance Program Ques.: Is there help for non owner occupied homeowners? Has anyone heard of the Home Savers Assistance Program? |

Hi hardtymes, If your aunt and uncle own another house they are currently living in, I believe BofA will consider this property an investment property.. Try emailing Barbara Dosoer she has helped many homeowners here get their pross started in a very professional matter: Barbara J. Thanks Evan for the response - not sure if I posed the problem correctly - the house they are behind in the mortagage payments is occupied by their children. So, I was thinking that since they do not live in the house - lender may consider it a second home. They live in an entirely different house with a loan by a different lender GMAC ( I think). |
