Has a single person been helped by GMAC?

I've been battling with them since March 16, 2009 and getting absolutely no where.

Maybe I should clarify. Anyone get a GMAC loan mod thru the Obama MHA program in the last few months? All of those links are from 2008. Thanks!

Also, does anyone have any contact info for higher ups to try to get the ball going on this? They're really giving me the run-around. I'm going on 4 months of this, when I was initially told 10 days...

I just wanted to let you know that under the refi Obama plan that they raised the LTV to 125% today, I did not qualify before and have been STRUGGLING On the loan modification, but called today and I will be eligible for the refinance. Maybe this can help you. The refinance reps seem to be MUCH MORE helpful than the Loan modification reps! Good luck!

This still does nothing for those of us who are not backed by freddie and fannie...nothing. We didn't choose who we were or were not backed by? When is something going to happen like this for us!??!!!!????!!! What do we do??

hey jess, still nothing here. I faxed my stuff on 4/10. 4/20 they called and said they had a completed package. then they call mid june and requested current pay stubs, DUH, you've had my package since 4/10. been on 2 month forebearance, last payment was 6/23. Called after I made it and they said, don't worry, we will have your MHAP package to you by 7/23. said it will come fedex. if not, they said call back and get another forebearance. I am approaching 90 days, good grief. what angers me is the MHAP said the servicer can simply take financials over the phone, get you on the trial plan and GMAC would then have 3 months to process the paperwork, everyone would be happy. it is frustrating to say the least.

Well, that's something. I keep getting the "it's in process, no way to know how much longer it'll be, but your file has been expedited." Suuuuuure....

Actually, I have GMAC and I just paid month #2 payment of the 3 month trial period. I was told, I have #3 to pay August 1st, then apparently no payment in September and then should have official loan mod in October.

Hmmm...it says a large number of complaints will "red flag" a company. Where can we complain? Who do we write to? I'm going on month 5 of this nonsense!

Jess, I just read the faq on MHAP.gov website and I know what GMAC is doing!

"How long will the Home Affordable Modification Program be available?
The program expires on December 31, 2012. Your trial modification must be in place by that date."

GMAC is just pushing us along until 12/2012 and then they will foreclose on us!

I believe the 12/2012 date applies to accepting new applications not processing applications already clocked in. Anyway, there is no way humanly possible they can drag this out 2 and a half years from now. There will be an uproar and deservedly so.

I have been trying to get a loan mod with GMAC since May of 2009. I have contacted several people; I thought I was close to getting the HAMP in July when I was told that I passed the first two steps, then I was told that I failed at the end because, now brace yourselves, "I could not afford the new monthly payment". I do not even get that; our monthly payment is 50% of our take-home pay. Has anyone seriously had a successful loan modification recently? I have also contacted the FDIC, the OCC, the Better Business Bureau, my senator, and no one has helped at all. Am I missing something? Thanks so much.

It took me 3 trys to get a trial loan mod 9 months total dont give up everytime they denied me the next day i redid the paperwork and tried again till they finally gave me my trial mod. try these it took me 9 months to get these numbers these are they only ones that i ever was helped by (and they actually return calls amazing!)

also since i live near thier head quaters i went there to complian call headqyuaters and do not listen to the rteceptionist that answers the phone she is rude tell her you want a area code 215 number for customer complaint NOT ANY 800 NUMBERS

I just wanted to say Thank you very much for this info. I will be calling her. Someone else posted an email address for peggy.slattery and she emailed me, but did not follow through; what has been new.

I was in touch with my Senator today, and will be sending a letter asking why I cannot afford a new, lower monthly payment through the HAMP program. The person I spoke with was very nice, and did say this is happening to many people.

I will let all of you know ho wthis goes, but this has been a constant job EVERY DAY.

GMAC has been dropping the ball every time someone new calls me and I think I am going to actually get somewhere.
