I hit a bump in January with my Mtg at Countrywide and reached out for some assistance. The gentlemen who took my call was very accomodating with the steps needed for a possible forebearance wherby I would be allowed if approved to skip 3-4 paymnents and they would be placed on the back end. In any event, one letter later and hopeful anticipation that they would see my hardship as a worthy cause to allow forgiveness--NOT. They declined my request and it was siuggested that I now reach out to the Hope dept-Did this in Feb. Well I received a letter that if I did not pay the 2 months that I was behind by 3/24 they would accelerate the loan. Made contact prior and they explained that this was a form letter and customary in these cases with at least 2 missed pmts; and that my letter to the hope dept is under review. Well, 3/24 came and no communication from them so I called the Hope dept (got number from Forum) and they said they did not have any info on me?? I called cust service and they suggested I re-fax the letter with pay stubs etc, yet to the hardship dept # not the hope dept?? I wrote another detailed letter with updated financials since things have picked up since Jan with $400+ over expenses and faxed it again with the originals from Feb. Waiting again I have gone on the website and see that the 3/24 letter hit and other info was available showing employment verification etc. OK here I am now on 4/8 and I still do not see any other updates nor have I received any calls from them... I have paid January, that they are holding in escrow, I am now paying this month which would count for Feb, still leaving me behind 2 months. The Income is in excess of expenses ( following advice from forum) and several detailed letters have been sent. What should I do now? Should I call again with the repeated questions posed originally? Where am I at? Do you need anything else? Here is my YTD Income and expense report update? Etc, etc.. I guess I am at their mercy now and waiting for some relief on the two months that I fell behind. I can get back on track, yet $7200 (2 mo) is an impossibility right now. Looking for some advice... Thank you |

It sounds like you have been proactive with contacting CW. You may want to give NACA a try. They are a non-profit, HUD approaved agency that has had alot of success with helping CW homeowners. NACA:https://www.naca.com/refinance/refinanceSubmission.jsp As well, here is CWs take on utilizing the "obama plan" to help homeowners:Countrywide Financial - Real Estate Mortgage Lender - Home Loans - Equity Loan Mortgages I do not know which number you have been contacting in CW, but here is the home retention #...a bit different from the "customer service" aka-collections. CW home retention: CW Home Retention 1-800-669-0102 ffice
