Need Help w/5 month late payment - Loan Modification Forum

My mortgage is with GMAC and haved asked for help through them and they cannot help me with lower payments on a P&I.
There best answer was to either foreclose or short sell my house. This is not an option for me please help!

What is the reason why they are unable to help you?

What is the interest rate at?
Is it fixed or adjustable?
If adjustable when is it adjusting?
Are you paying interest only?
What is the loan amount?
Do you have one loan or two?
What has caused the hardship?
Is there income coming in?
Have you gone throught the process with GMAC?
When was the last time you have spoken with GMAC?
