I have a spreadsheet with everyone's contact information, names, and locations. I have not shared it because I want everyone's blessings to do so.

There was an email from one of our members today that wants to participate but is concerned about being "infiltrated". I will say again. . .

What is going to happen if your bank finds out that you are here, that you are educating yourself and others and that you are fighting against the constant games being played in lives by folks that have zero vested interest in us?

Are they going to cancel our Trial Mods? Are they going to kick us out of our homes in 3 months instead of 6? Are they going to ruin our credit?

or maybe

Are they going to make sure you get what you need so that you will have positive things to say? Are they going to give you a permanent modification because you are not afraid to speak out?

Please, I am still waiting for someone to tell me what you are afraid of? Losing everything you have worked your adult life for? I am absolutely heart broken to tell you that it is likely to happen unless you fight it tooth and nail. And part of that is being very public about your fight, and this fight. Our fight.

As we are in this together, and I am NOT working in a vacuum, perhaps we should also discuss our signatures and add the link to the erin account in them, that way folks don't have to go looking for the information?

I’m sorry everyone, but to be honest I don’t feel comfortable with the effort and I feel, at least at this time, that the call to arms may have already been infiltrated by the banking institutions.

A gmail account does Not satisfy my ability to post something beneficial to those of us in trouble because, again to be honest, how in the world do I know who I’m communicating with and sharing specific information from a very authoritive and knowledgeable source.

AZOwner, I agree with you regarding the “so what stance” you’ve posted, but I’m unwilling to provide anything of a specific nature in a group format due to it being used against us later on by the banks. Consider this, a ton of info exists on this forum as it stands…..and the banks are watching, believe me!

I will share this because I’ve known about it for quite a while, but must first ask “how many of you have second mortgages” as in an 80/20 ARM?

If you find yourself in Default with the “second”, to foreclose the note holder of the “second” must Buy-Out the Deed of Trust from the “first” note holder which has already been securitized in a trust or asset-backed securities. So how far do you think the “second” holder of the mortgage is going to go in order to hold claim to the home? A few things come to mind…..settle at a very discounted rate…..or allow them to 1099 you, which will need to be filed as income on your upcoming tax return, I’ll stop there for now there’s more!

I’ve given this effort by the forum members a lot of thought because frankly, I saw it coming yet, I don’t find myself in any ‘comfort zone’ at this time. I don’t find these letter writing campaigns and one-on-ones to be affective…..how many of us Opposed TARP via letters and signed petitions? By Majority, the entire Country did! Did it work…..NO? Are any of the other ‘Stimulus Packages” working…..NO?

If anyone in Congress is on the side of the ‘home-owner’ it would be Marcy Kaptur representing Ohio. When you think about it, it takes a lot of balls for someone in Congress as her to stand up in front of everyone and in so many words tell the home-owners to “stand there ground” for good reason, and don’t forget court case law in Ohio, Kansas, Arkansas, Boston Massachusetts, Florida and LA California…..a full court press is in order and don’t forget the Attorney Generals (AG) decisions…..Again go for it, however I just don't feel comfortable applying everything I’ve learned to an open group gmail account. Show me the Security from Goggle, I may re-think my stance.

I also understand the reluctancy of other members, and totally respect their decisions. We each have to make these important decisions on our own. I made the decision to fight, because I've been begging for a mortgage loan modification for over 2 years now, and I don't have one. Obviously, what I've been doing, and what the the government programs are doing, is not working for my situation. Nor is it working for millions of other Americans. So, this is my Plan B. If it doesn't work, I'll form another plan, and go on to Plan C. I want to get a modification for myself, and my new friends on this forum. Simple as that. I hope to see you at the chat.

Everyone - I am with you and on this team. I have to work today at an offsite location. I will bring my laptop but I have no idea if I will have a connection to the internet. If I don't respond, THAT will be why. Please send me any minutes, etc. I usually don't work on Saturdays - this is unusual - so other Saturday chats would work....

As far as infiltration goes, I believe that has happened already. We all need to do what is most comfortable for us, but quite frankly I have been doing everything in my power to get this mod and to help other people and I must do more. This has to change.

I continue to also think we need to put part of our focus on our states. I have a meeting next week with my state congressman's rep - I've already given them alot of info - I want to start pushing for California to push back against the lack of regulation of HAMP and pass some new laws like Nevada and others are doing.

Yes, but you contradict these words with your actions sir. You know we get along and see eye to eye on most issues, but I really feel this is a weak argument. This is not an attack on you Gary, but juts simply disagreeing with you in every way on this.

If the people cannot stand up against tyrant banks and abusive corporations, let alone an oppressive government who is allowing to let this happen, then these people deserve to have their homes, money and rights taken. It is as simple as that and it is EXACTLY what is happening and WILL continue to happen. Yes, over 5 million in the last few years.

Moe, the contradiction you note is not as you perceive. I will continue to participate and fight this battle but not in a group format using a gmail account to pass along information I’m now receiving from a professional source. I’m sure you can understand my discomfort in doing so.

At present I must tackle this on an individual basis because I have very little time to nip my Default Notice in the bud. And yes Moe I am a fighter….I just find little solace in our current Congress to actually do anything about this mess with the exception of a few representatives.

Here’s something to think about. Many of the current Congressional Assembly (and some Senators) members will be up for re-election in 2010. Participating State Loansafe members may want to “approach” these representatives on a state by state level or may wish to set up a PAC (political action committee) to bend their ears.

Believe me I’ll always stand tall against “tyrants”! For now I must do so in a manner best fitting my situation.

Hi All. I wanted to participate but I am CLUELESS! I had my Gmail open but nothing happened! I need someone to send me some kind of DUH-proof tutorial so I can participate.
I watched the "money czar" yesterday and it was very interesting. I did not know that the banks do nor have to pay back any money they get for HAMP. How do they get the money? Do they only have to show they are "trying"? That would make sense as to why so many people are getting trial mods and then denied final.

I don't know if this is the proper place to put this comment, but I think the most active readers will look here, and possibly comment.

When it comes to being "infiltrated" I'm sure there are people other than those looking for help that visit, and maybe even leave comments on the site. In my letters to the OCC and my representatives I have mentioned this site and rip-off report.com to point out that they could see and read others comments that are in the same situation as me. The fact of being told "not to make payments" so you can be behind is financially irresponsible of a company. But if you look at a site that has over 1000 people saying the same thing....maybe I'm NOT full of crap. They can go there...see it for themselves.But if they are smart, they may look at more than that subject.

As long as we are truthful and accurate there IS nothing to hide. We need to comment on those we think may try to do wrong.I didn't get to catch the post about "hiding rental income", but if it requested how to illegelly beat the system, each of us needs to comment that it IS illegal and they will NOT receive help in that way.
By posting on these requests and answers will only further our cause our legitimacy, and show our real intent.
