Re: Urgent - moe needs us!!! Read this

Everyone - Moe has been the lifeblood of this forum for a long time. We have just picked up the pace and he has been quiet for awhile. Now we read that he is quitting the forum. I don't want him to quit. I absolutely don't. And I think the only way we can either get him back or get this forum going is to step up the pace. So speak up. Speak out. FIGHT. Don't just come here for answers. FIGHT. Write and call everyone and every place you can think of. Join us on gmail for chats that AZ has started. THIS WILL NEVER STOP UNLESS WE THE PEOPLE STOP IT.

Moe may find someone to lease the forum. BUT WE NEED MOE TO STAY A PART OF THIS COMMUNITY and I think he is reaching out to us one more time to see if we mean to fight. Do you?

Re: Urgent - moe needs us!!! Read this

I agree caldwell. A lot of talk here, not a lot of action. Some people were meant to be leaders, others followers. We need to have leaders who can instruct the followers on daily activities. I have always said united we are a force. One voice makes no difference. We calling my state senator all the time probably has no effect. If 100 people called every day, we would get their attention. WE NEED MOE AND THIS FORUM! Please don't give up on this Moe. You have put so much time and effort into this baby, we are just starting to walk. We need you to help us run. Please reconsider.

Yes, there are not a lot of leaders it appears. I will admit that I am a follower, but we need followers too. They are the behind the scenes people who can do work that isn't so public. I want to help, I intend to help, but it will be the 'quiet help'. The encouragement to others, sharing what I learn by my experiences. To be honest, I don't know how to start a conversation with the senator's office, I would sound like a dolt. We need a script. Whose willing to put one together. I'll call with a script! I'm not kidding. I am very shy, even at my age of almost 60.

Re: Urgent - moe needs us!!! Read this

Faxes to the Senators and Congressmen work much better than trying to e-mail them on their sites.
Keep on faxing till you get their attention. If your congressman's rep is in town, have something written and give it to them.
Write a letter to the editor in your home town.
Blog on the Huffington Post site.
Get a gmail account (see AZ's thread) and join the chat re: homeowners parties.
File a complaint with the regulating body for your servicer.
Submit a Qualified Written Request.
Tell EVERYONE you know this is going on.
Put some information on your facebook page if you have one.
Tell EVERYONE you know what is going on.
See the Michael Moore movie to get pumped up.
Figure out who on this forum has your servicer and make a plan with them. (That's one thing I haven't done and am going to do)
Don't stop.
Even tell your state congressman/woman - they can work on the governor of your state to stop foreclosures for awhile.
People just don't know what we are going through ----- tell them!!!!!!
If you get a foreclosure notice, call NACa or Hud and get them to stop it.
Squat in your GD home!
I PLEDGE THAT I WILL DO ALL OF THIS AND MORE (WHEN I THINK OF THINGS). We all can do this.

Okay. So I'll work on a basic script, but you've gotta personalize it. Give me a little time. I'm at work and I've gotta go...

I agree with most of the above more than trying to get Congress folks to houseparties which I doubt (sorry) will work. Most just are not available for these things and are usually booked for months or years ahead. But I hope to be proven wrong.

Calling Congress offices and telling problem to staff first in my view gets more attention, athough they will also want you to fax or write to them your issues.

In my view what is most needed is to find lawyers or other comunity organizations (like in MN) willing to evaluate the potential of a focused Minnesota like legal action.

And as much pressure on Congress reps on getting an enforceable foreclosure ban at least while under HAMP review and if denied have at least 60-90 days to find other alternatives vs next day sales that have been happening.

The Congressional Oversight report is outstanding on laying out the problems. Now we need solutions.

To me it is silly to spend billions more home buyer incentives instead of trying to keep folks that desperately want to save their homes in them. That should also be the message to Senators and Reps in my view. I have done this with mine (Kyle and McCain)

All members of Congress need to get the picture of unemployment after 2010 if they won't do what we, as their employers, want them to and we fire them. (not that they won't keep getting paid...that is another problem...).

Agreed on dave's post. we posted at the same time...

I agree with Dave's post, and I am not going to comment on the houseparty other than to say STEP UP BIG BOY!

I want to see some ACTION and SOME DIRECTION FROM YOU.

Be EXPLICIT. Many of us willing to jump to action, VERY FEW willing to listen to blow-hards.

We don't need 20 leaders? how many folks did you want to mobilize? There are 11 of us committed to this issue, and sorry, I don't see either of your names on the list.

junior.erin@gmail.com

I can't be any more clear than that fella's. Put up or shut up. It's not YOUR fight, it's OUR fight -- so BAND TOGETHER.

(I mean all of this very lovingly, really)

Re: Urgent - moe needs us!!! Read this

My problem is I am spending way too much time here instead of trying to earn more money (self employed).

Also we need to be committed to what we are organizing for.

My suggestion is more a fax/letter/e-mail campaign. We post and organize media contacts. regulators etc and of course our Congress folks which are easy to find info on as I have done to mine.

I have this posted on two other threads but my suggestion is the following talking points to do mail/fax/e-mail bombs to anyone who can do anything:

(personalized opening) I have been fighting to save my home for the last __ months trying to get a HAMP modification. I am at my wits end with the problems with its implementation.

Worse yet I am hearing about many foreclosures against all the directives at the same time many of us are making trial payments and trying to get HAMP modifications. People are having homes sold immediately upon denials often for reasons that don't make sense, with no time to pursue other options such as Chapter 13 etc. This is going on frequently even though against all the directives of Treasury and HampAdmin. This is causing huge emotional distress for many of us desperately trying to save your homes for our families.

The proof of this going on is evident from the thousands of reports on various web forums with desperate homeowners reporting their experiences.

What makes me even more scared are reports such as:
On 9/11/09 National Consumer Law center said "Participating servicers violate the HAMP guidelines by selling homes at foreclosure while homeowners are negotiating loan modifications, requiring waivers of homeowner rights, and refusing to offer HAMP modifications to qualified borrowers. Lack of transparency in the application, review and turn down process exacerbates these problems."

Attorney Jeff Barens warns in article of 9/11/09 “BEWARE THE “END-RUN” (SNEAK) FORECLOSURE” at Foreclosure Defense Nationwide - Mortgage Foreclosure Help - Free Advice It reports the widespread practice of servers telling customers not to worry about the foreclosure notice, messes up the paper work and trustee sale is completed!

We need another foreclosure halt that can be enforced while under HAMP trials AND if denied at least 60-90 days before a sale can be done while other options are considered.

The problem isn't homeowners not contacting servicers and sending info, its the servicers being overwhelmed, losing paperwork that is sent in many times, and servicers not following the directives from HAMP/Treasury that is the real problem.

Few homeowners qualify for the refinancing programs since most are underwater. But HAMP modifications could be very successful with more servicer and investor cooperation.

The Congressional Oversight Report of 10/9/09 clearly shows the problem of HAMP is not the homeowners but with the implementation. As pointed out 2MP for second mortgages is badly needed but there is not enough funding for incentives to encourage participation.

Instead of allocating more billions for new homeowner credits, more should be done to and save the millions of us that are so desperately trying to save our homes but face huge obstacles with trying to get HAMP modifications. We are the hurting desperate citizens who can afford to keep our homes under HAMP.

Fix the HAMP and 2MP broken programs instead of rewarding new buyers that are not hurting like we are. HAMP and 2MP are very good programs, it is the implementation that is broken.

Instead of blaming homeowners for not responding to find out what is really going on in the real world just read the Congressional Oversight Report at http://cop.senate.gov/documents/cop-100909-report.pdf.

There is a huge forum with sometimes 2000 members on at once sharing the real world issues of why HAMP is failing on the forum at Home Loan Forum - LoanSafe.org

I will continue to call and write my congressman. I also wrote to President Obama and Timothy Geitner. More letters to people who can make a difference for their constituants. More people need to be become actively involved. I have also written about unfair unscrupulous credit card company practices.
