The facts are that I have studied the foreclosure crisis for over two years and have kept an watchful eye on the non-profit industry to see what they were actually doing to help struggling homeowners. Many large non-profits like NACA and Neighborhood Works have done a fairly good job at combatting foreclosures and getting the word out daily, weekly and monthly.

One of the largest and worst non-profits at truly getting the word out and marketing foreclosure prevention is hands down without a doubt, ACORN. Yet, in recent research that I have done of the funding they have received over the last several years it clearly shows that their biggest funders of ACORN are banks and the government shows that they obtain the most donations from the worlds largest banks.

Here in the Inland Empire, California (Foreclosure Ground Zero) they have been virtually silent on the foreclosure prevention. There are a few offices spread throughout Riverside and San Bernardino where no one EVER answers the phone. I have tried calling these clowns myself numerous times to only get an answering machines and no call backs.
Now it seems like this is ALL part of the banking propaganda scheme to further the agenda of foreclosing on as many homes as they can.
Corporate donations to ACORN are vulnerable to misappropriation, dissident group says

Donations from financial institutions to the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now during the past several years for community redevelopment are open to misdirection and misappropriation, according to ACORN dissidents. Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, and Citigroup made grants to the ACORN Housing Corporation and other ACORN affiliate groups.
The three banks are also among the top recipients of federal bailout money under the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP). ACORN Housing Corporation has received 28 grants totaling almost $3 million since 2005 from Bank of America, according to the conservative Capital Research Center (CRC).

The largest Bank of America grant was for $740,000 to a Las Vegas ACORN group. Federal authorities raided ACORN’s Las Vegas office last year on suspicion of voter registration fraud when the group submitted voter registration affidavits with the names of Dallas Cowboys professional football players.
Earlier this month, voter registration fraud charges were filed against ACORN in Nevada and in Pennsylvania three days later. ACORN is now under criminal investigation in at least 14 states even as dissidents are raising serious questions about the group’s financial management practices. “Bank of America owes American taxpayers an answer to the following question,” said Terrence Scanlon, CRC president.

“How can funds be given away to a radical political organization that is under federal investigation and then have the audacity to get in line for TARP funds?”

ACORN Benefits From Bank Of America

A statement by the bank on its $35 million “neighborhood preservation and foreclosure prevention package” — grants to nonprofits over roughly two years ending this June — indicates $2,155,000 of it will go to ACORN. Bank of America officials said in the statement they intend the funds “to boost the capacity of both national and local nonprofits supporting distressed homeowners.”

Allocations from the bank to the controversial nonprofit include $2 million to the Chicago-based ACORN Housing Corporation; $50,000 to ACORN’s Miami, Fla. Chapter; $85,000 to ACORN in Illinois and $20,000 to ACORN in Nevada.
Critics of the grants have pointedly mentioned the bank is getting a large amount of public funds.

I admit, I don't know much about the org or what they do or don't do. But, the fact that the org became such a political hot bed and targeted by the right, you'd think it would be ready, (politically) armed and waiting for any "punking" anywhere, anytime by it. But, no. The enemy had been sitting in wait to pull a Borat style punking and the org fell for it, hook, line and sinker w/ the ole "pimp and ho" comedy routine that was pulled.

C'mon! Get a clue, folks ! Like I said, I have no opinion about the org, but when I saw how easily it was duped by its political enemy, I knew the org was led by and filled with nitwits and the org was in dire need of a makeover, with a capital "D" !

Of course their name was spelled out in simple terms, but the anti porkulous spending bill was to pay them over 4 billion in the next two years. Over 1 billion was going to be for them to be incharge of the census...

I admit, I don't know much about the org or what they do or don't do. But, the fact that the org became such a political hot bed and targeted by the right, you'd think it would be ready, (politically) armed and waiting for any "punking" anywhere, anytime by it. But, no. The enemy had been sitting in wait to pull a Borat style punking and the org fell for it, hook, line and sinker w/ the ole "pimp and ho" comedy routine that was pulled. C'mon! Get a clue, folks ! Like I said, I have no opinion about the org, but when I saw how easily it was duped by its political enemy, I knew the org was led by and filled with nitwits and the org was in dire need of a makeover, with a capital "D" !
