Caldwell, thanks for meeting on common ground. I wont let you down. It is me who has Bruce on my cell and calls have been made. Lets see if they come through.

Please keep in mind that I have tried for two years and what I have learned is that everyone has AN AGENDA AND WANTS the lime light. Bruce likes me, but I sometimes feel that many of these guys see me as a possible threat to their mission. Think about it, they (NACA, Hope Now and ACORN) spend millions on actual marketing to attract people to help. I do that with not one penny and or Federal support and I dont charge. People find NACA from me and help on loan mods because I am an expert on the web and in social media.

I think I have figured it out and they don't, right?

There seems to be a problem here when I am ignored but have the busiest website with struggling homeowners in the world. Is it because the truth is told here and this is a free forum where your first amendment rights are protected? I think that is EXACTLY why. This is the lions den for all these out fits and they are scared.

With that said, lets hope Bruce Marks and NACA do the right thing and help you all here. But lets not hold our breathes.

Moe, the job I had for nearly 25 years was with a company that was bought out by another company involved in 'Americans for Prosperity' and the Cato Institute. It wasn't until after I had been sitting here unemployed for several weeks that I began to read and research what they are all about. I know that you know this is not for the faint hearted and we'l need to pull in more people to the army.

We were offered a payroll deduction for backing the PAC. I didn't get involved but now I know what this has been about. I am glad they eliminated my position. What they stand for makes me sick.

Hey! Im on the MERS list too! Yay!...maybe...
Does MERS mean that your loan was necessarily securitized? Or are they just the "bankers" for the servicers? On the MERS website, they do explain their legal position as a legitimate creditor....so even if a loan is "divided" how does that invalidate their claim? I mean, your personal bank does not keep a specific "slot" for the money in your checking account...know what I mean? Its kinda the same for securitization...

Any info that I can forward to my attny would be very helpful....I dont think that he is really up to the challenge...

What does that have to do with mortgage loans?

Just my view that there are plenty of other site to tackle main street vs Wall Street or Big Bad Government. Many of us look to this forum for saving our loans and homes.

In my view we need a forum like this just as it is to concentrate on helping people save their homes, not a broader more political focus for which there are already tons of sites.

I believe most people come here for to save their loans or get mods if the servicers would just do them and follow the HAMP directives if they are HAMP eligible.

I have high respect for you Moe and I knew a lot of people here including myself are impressed with your intellectual thoughts about all other issues, but I have to be honest that all that matters to me right now is my home, the reason why I stick to loansafe, is to seek a way or hope that I may save my home.
In my own opinion we should concentrate or focus our mind on what is the most important to us. First thing first, we gotta have a clearer picture on one issue after another. No offend to anyone.

Did you refinance the original mortgage at any point in time? We took out two mortgages at the time of purchase. When I look mine up, there are three matches found and one is inactive. We refied on the second mortgage so the original one is inactive.

I agree that the most important issue right now for the majority of the people here is their home. Moe, is there any chance you can create a "test" site like you are talking about and link it from this site? Maybe on your home page you can have something that reads "click here for the mainstreetforum discussion" or something similar? If you can "test" it through this site, it might save on paying the hosting fees, and you can gauge the popularity of visitors? Just a thought. Once again, I thank you for all you do. I was very desperate until I found this site and I will continue to support you and your efforts.

Nativelasvegan - that is a good idea. Moe - could you do that? Could you link the other to this (I almost wrote "our" then realized that I'm less secure here than I was before the change was proposed. Sorry) site? Then when we have massed here and sent our e-mails to all the banks and media and we finally get our mods - which could happen if we really focus - then we could all move over to the rest of it.

I know there are more problems out there. This morning though, with seeing the spot on ABC about "foreclosure wolves" (see my new thread) and reading a little here before work, I am back to thinking we need to focus on this. One of the threads mentioned that article on MERS, so I clicked the link, and went to a "tree of liberty" forum. Except for the header, the thing has the same format as this one. This is the first forum I have ever spent time on and I was surprised. I'm back to really hoping that we stay focused on loans and mods and what we've been focusing on...... So gotta go to work. Just wanted to register here after reading for a couple a weeks. I checked the MERS site and I' am listed. I've been trying since the March declaration that I did not have to be behind in payments. Still no luck, BOA transfers me and transfers me then hangs up on my calls. I've been working with my local Catholic charities loan counsel since March and meeting with her again Wednesday. I might just stop paying my mortgage if this BS keeps happening and keep it for free. Just kidding or Am I?

So, let me ask you all this and this is just healthy debate here.

1. How can we keep just talking about home and loans when the banks have their hands in the media and control the strings of Washington?

2. How can we EVER make change if we don't get at the root of the problem which is Washington and the media?

3. When someone can intelligently debate this and tell me why it is just about homes and loans, then I will seriously consider no name change or focus, but I have YET to see one comment here that does that.

4. How many more stories must I hear and answer for you all to realize that Washington is of the Banks nd for the banks and the media is their puppets? Just look through the 100,000 plus posts here and 19,000 members. I think my study (LoanSafe) has proved my point BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT!

I respect you all in every way and EVERYONE has their right to chime in here and tell Moe to try this or do that, but I need facts and reasons besides I need to save my home and fix my loan first.

That is like doing an oil change on your car with what really is a blown out engine and expecting it to run just fine.

Moe - okay healthy debate here goes.

1. We can keep talking about the loans because Shelter is so critical to our well being. You can't ask a person with no food to rally against the powers that be without first feeding them. It's hard for me/many of us to consider changing the focus to an election 12 months away when that takes my focus away from trying to save my shelter now. I am not done with this fight and won't be deflected.

2. I think we should definitely concentrate on DC and the media while we are pushing the lenders. Absolutely. This fight is not mutually exclusive of that goal.

3. It is about both the homes and loans and the system. It is about both. Because we are here and going through this nightmare and need support and when people are in the kinds of struggle we are in, concentrating only on the big picture is often quite frankly impossible.

4. Yes it does appear that DC and the banks are all in this together. Yes it does. Yes they need to be targeted. Yes yes yes. But if you make this forum (and that of course is your choice) about electing politicians in 2010, I'm outta here till I figure out what shelter I have over my head.

It feels like one day we were all getting on the bandwagon of making a concerted effort to flood the banks and the politicians and the media on the issue of our loan mods, and now it's escalated to some overall revolution. I'm not against revolution per se, but I firmly have my focus. I am here to learn about and help people with loan modifications however I can.

The analogy of the oil change escapes me. Having a car is different than having a home. Let's figure out how to be successful at mods. Let's make the banks accountable. Let's try this as a concerted push. Let's swamp the media and congress and anyone else for awhile in a concerted effort. If it doesn't work, so be it. But it could. We could at least try for a few months. How about waiting till Jan 1? Then we can use what we've learned and the power in numbers we've created to focus on making other, larger changes.
