The extension is not required it allows the servicer if they choose to do extension.

Doesn't help folks in my situation where we can't get servicer to even send the documents (CitiMortgage in my case) so we can return them. Again we are entirely at the mercy of the servicing company all is their option.

I feel the same way cleach. Not sure I have much to contribute but time given to follow any direction decided we need to go. Far as second families John.......you all are way better than some members of that I have so I totally agree My loan servicer Home Loan Services from their stats are in my opinion the biggest joke of ever helping homeowners. The only thing they get done is tactics to get you out. I have yet to read one GOOD success story. I figured out quite after a year, a year ago it was a complete waste of time energy and emotion to keep trying with them to the point of filing a Chapter 13 to stop the auction, back to making payments I can't afford awaiting to save up funds to hire an Attorney for a damn loan modification with the hope of a lower interest rate from the stupid high one I have now. What they say, do and sign up pretending they are committed is such BS when you try to make that happen. It is NOT what is out there to keep homeowners in their homes. It is the poor excuse of banks and servicers saying they want to help, but in the end? You feel helpless and out of control after doing what they said to do after months of the run around with so many lies you can't keep tract anymore or lose it. Oh and it just so happens they were bought out by Merrill Lynch then bought out by BofA whom by the way doesn't claim them besides the fact I am not even sure my First Franklin loan went there or stayed with National City. What I do know is if REAL CHANGES are not made it is a matter of time before I loose my house since no one has been able to step up and FORCE them to help homeowers. The posts all over this site prove it. That is what gets to me the most. The people here having their hope and what should be a common sense solution used against them. Time to take that passion, anger and fight back with a united front. We are all in this together. More and more lenders/servicers have been found to be leaving these contracts unsigned and never actually implementing them. They assure you that the mod is 'yours' and take payments per the contract, or transfer the note when you were supposed to start the payments. Then if they so desire, they start another game of trying to foreclose. As the market just starts to improve, we are going to find more of these 'UN' contracts surface.

Just click New Thread in one of the titles to your left, say foreclosure, click that and on top there is a little box called New Thread , click on that and title your thread what ever you want to call it. Then you can tell your story and we can all help you by giving suggestions.

Thank you you also for expressing your desire to join us in our quest for justice. We will win this battle. I am sure Moe is preparing resolutions and ideas how to fight a good fight against this greedy corporations, banks, lenders etc. We are just waiting for further instructions.

Hello Faith, I am one of the homeowners thru; NACA/CW April Restructure Submittals. And yes, I and my children lives in our only home in Atlantic city, New Jersey. My lender/servicer was CW/BOA. As far as my loan mod. with the help of NACA, I am one of those hopefuls waiting until now for CW/BOA's rsponse. I will keep it posted if there's positive results in my battle.
For the time being all I can do is to keep my fingers cross for each and everyone of us.

Thanks for the information about the hearing. I have totally lost any possible help coming from the crooks who took over our countries representation. I would prefer those in DC to actually do a job to save home owners from home theft and financial instability.
I believe it will be more of the same. The election of Obama proves that the sham is in effect for both political parties. I have hope with a few Senators and a few representatives but overall feel that our country was sold out through corruption of the whole body of Congress and the Administration to serving their own interests and none of the obligations a public servant should be required to uphold.

I agree Snapple. Moe thanks for posting that link. When you do a search and read other articles, etc. on Chomsky you realize how right the lyric of the old Who song was. "New boss, same as the old boss". I did find one comment from Chomsky about healthcare issues. He was asked why healthcare wasn't an issue in the 2004 election, even though it was an issue with the American populace, yet it was an issue in the 2008 election. His answer........ Because it became an issue of expense for corporations such as GM car costs ect. This administration, just like all previous administrations, is supportive of the elite and their investments. Socialism (i.e. us paying for their mistakes) for the wealthy and their investments, democracy for small business and middle america. It makes it appear that regular news outlets or the main stream media are useless. All owned and controlled by the elite of which are too big (or powerful) to fail. It is probably why there is such a huge effort to down play and discredit the grass roots tea party movements. It certainly is a new outlet of expression and one that has potential for future change and they are out of the control of the elite. People are unhappy yet are misdirected as to who to blame. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't people within the grass roots movement who are placing theirselves there just to create "homeowner hater" stuff instead of solidarity for middle america.

Greetings to all, I hope today finds you in good spirits and a renewed sense of peace!!

I fear that emotions now rule each day for those struggling to adapt to the economic crisis and the homeowners potential loss of their homes. However, I must use homeowner as a loose term in as much as, we are not homeowners, we are mortgage holders and we are merely paying rent plus interest and fees for the time being on a structure that may or may not become ours in 30 years. I can tell you that I am not emotionally attach the current residence that I occupy and will be greatly relieved when my landlord CitiMortgage forecloses or rather "evicts" me. I have termed it, "Operation Repo" in the case of our current plight. I will however, make all valid attempts to stem or even reverse what I believe to be the inevitable in our situation. As said before, the Lending Institutions are not interested in our situations. They are interested in their “Bottom line”.

Thanks for all the kind remarks on my post I am just calling it as I see it. As for the phrase, God helps those who help themselves; this was first coined by Benjamin Franklin. Also to note, there is no evidence in scripture that supports this particular phrase as well. Luke 15:4-6 also tells us through the parable of the lost sheep, that we are the lost sheep, in need of saving as we are not capable of saving ourselves. As this phrase has been passed down from generation to generation, I myself believed it to be so, however in learning over the years that I was foolish in believing that I could “help myself” or rely upon my own device to deliver myself from a situation rather than rely on God to deliver me in his time and not mine. I still struggle with the waiting aspect, however I am a work in progress be that as it may my father reminds me that “it is what it is” so I go with that thought as it stands right now.

I mean no disrespect in above statement as I am just delivering what I have gleaned as stated by scripture. I do not intend to make this a debate of theology and hope that those reading and replying will see that and take no offense.

Do not want to lose it, I commend you for your spunk and you may very well be correct in time being on our side. I did read an article in my hometown (Piqua, Ohio) newspaper in regards to the Mortgage Crisis, however I was saddened to see it on the very back page, as there is not a lot of traffic back there. And by the way, that perfectly ripe cantaloupe sounded quite nice along side those pumpkins you spoke of. The prices of pumpkins here are amazing and how I wish I would have planted some such as it is though, I will find a local farmer’s market that I will purchase from.

So today I will spend some time contemplating my situation, seek guidance and of course, give my Representative a call at CitiMortgage to see how he is doing this fine day and what is the status of my modification. I will be enjoying this rainy day with a nice cup of coffee and the chatter of my 2 year old and 9 month old. I am sure my son who will be 20 come October 2nd will have some issue I must attended too and my 12 yr old son will come home from school and want to know what is for dinner with his sister in tow who just turned 10 an knows absolutely everything. I will then find time to pen a letter to the President of CitiMortgage just to add some spice to an other wise dull day!!!!

I for one will say that I am not emotionally attached to my house... I have not been here long enough. It will be three years in October. But looking at all the options, it would be nice to stay here long enough at a payment that I can afford and try and sell it at a later time when (God willing) the market comes back. I already have a temporary assistance loan in place to carry me for another 8 to 10 months. I'm hoping to workout some kind of mod to stretch that loan out even further and buy me the time I need to clean up my other debts. At this point, my credit has been so damaged that I don't see any other great options so I may as well stay and fight. I also don't have the means to afford the cost to move (I've got a lot of furniture and it is all paid for so I don't intend to just sell it all off unless I had no other choice). So, at least for now, I will stand up and fight. If there is any way I can assist someone else, please let me know.

I agree with the OP.

My favorite saying I love to hear from a mortgage holder is, "I just bought my own home". Well no you have not, you are just renting the home, plus you pay taxes, repairs, and in some cases HOA that is just another rip off of thousands of dollars per year. My favorite thing to ask these new mortgage holders, "how much will you pay to the bank if you complete the loan". Deer in the headlights usually since the fine print of armotization is not even looked at when signing your pocket book away. You will pay 3 times the cost or the original loan plus the structure was worth only 1/2 of the original appraisal when you got the mortgage.

I am not attached to chases 219K underwater condo either. Lived here for three years and now I understand the saying, "mortgage poor". I have never been so broke in my life trying to live the "American Dream". I am ready to walk and go rent for twice the room, and half the price. No repairs, no taxes, no HOA.

I guess I am not the norm since I have never had a emotional attachment to this condo, I am sure its from my monthly stomach ache I have paying both mortgages, HOA, taxes and ins.

A home is where you make it, whether its a apartment, or renting someones home, your name does not have to be on the mortgage in order for it to be your home.

I will not any longer live and die by FICO. As the OP said and what I told my wife months ago, "cash, ATM or no dice". Maybe we all need to try and live under our means and not beyond our means. Buy what we need, not what we want.

Since not paying either mortgages I am paying off debt and stashing money under my mattress. CC are all closed and I will never have them again. Look at what my excellent credit got me into, I know I need a score of 400 to keep me inline for many years to come. Debt is truly dumb...

Alot will worry what others will think of them by walking away (I myself am not concerned what others will think and or say) - for me there is no price to be put on your piece of mind, health and happiness. so I say rock on

I am actually more shocked at what people think by my NOT walking away and trying to workout a modification. These "people" are close family members of mine and have been so unsupportive. Wouldn't even cut me a break so that my children and theirs could enjoy our family vacation together this summer! I've had plenty of time to forgive and move on, but my relationships with these two sisters of mine will forever be changed. At a time when I need their emotional support (I never asked either of them for a dime), I found nothing but jealousy and blame. Yes, jealousy! Both ticked off that I might have a lower payment, possibly lower than theirs, and in a bigger home than theirs. Unbelievably ridiculous but true! I asked my mother, would they (my sisters) like to trade places?! Sorry, getting off topic here. I do agree with you, what will be will be. I at least want to look back and say with pride that I gave it my all. Trust me, if I could sell this house without owing anything, I would. I already tried that and it just didn't work out. Hey thanks everyone and the comments made. CW, Snapple, glad you had time to get educated on Chomsky, He is one of my role models and I have decided to carry his torch online here on LoanSafe. We have to expose the media, banks and the government to ever make change.

The answer to our problems is going to be by focusing on the 2010 elections and MAKING sure we expose the lies and corruption that is being perpetuated by our states senators. They don't represent us ANYMORE THEY REPRESENT SPECIAL INTERESTS!

They ALL HAVE TO GO!!!

We might be changing the name of this website in order to cover more subjects beside loans because it seems like this is a forum by Main Street for Main Street and we are each facing more issues beside losing our homes. Jobs, money, rent, food etc is affecting most all of us.

I contemplating changing the name of the forum to a domain name I own called 'FreeorDie.org' We will cover loans, money, Washington and the media. One of the reason is we have to FOCUS ON 2010 elections and make sure the same senators that failed to protect the people are voted out in 2010 and the media that is in bed with the banks and Washington will be exposed as well.

We ALL must get politically active!!

Main Street must lead the 2010 elections and we cant let the media decide our fates.
I feel we can be a platform via our forum to make a huge impact in 2010.

I think you said it in your post about being Main Street....How about MainStreet4MainStreet.org or MainstreetAmericansForum.org??? Something that people would more relate to. Just a suggestion. Since Bank Of America is the biggest mortgage servicer and a lot of members have them a servicer, today we will write an email to executive management and cc the media.

I ask everyone to write this and if it is not your servicer you can just copy and past my open letter below and say "I as a member of LoanSafe.org will support my fellow Americans in the fight against your bank!!!" and the copy the letter and hit send. It should take 30 seconds.

If this is your bank, say the same thing but say you are their client and then write your own letter in your own words if you like.
