I find John Schettler's articles at The Writing Shop, a great alternative to mainstream media re economy, politics, etc. Be forewarned, some very sobering information. No sugarcoating.

His July 2009 article, Rocket's Red Glare, is also outstanding for the times. He discusses what Franklin, Jefferson and Adams would really think about this nation today (total corruption) and what they would do about it. Great article(s)!
