Am I too late for QWR?

Hello, I've been turned down for a modification by Sovereign Bank twice. The second time, they told me to hire a lawyer. In another attempt to save my home I decided to send a QWR letter -just found out about that from reading this great site- and now I'm wondering if it's too late in the game to be doing that. Any advice would be apreciated. Thanks!
P.S. I must admit, I don't really know whta I'm doing, but feel I'm learning by reading the entries on here.

No it is not too late to send Sovereign a QWR. Many people have sent a QWR as a plan B to get the process going quicker. If you feel strongly that there were predatory violations on your original mortgage than sending a QWR would be perfect.

Re: Am I too late for QWR?

Thank you for the quick reply. I'll see what happens. I don't really understand why they would tell me to hire an attorney. Also don't understand why I wouldn't qualify for a modification because of a financial deficit. That deficit would have been there when I got the loan without any problems whatsoever. I paid 90, 000 down on my house and there is no way that I can just walk away from that without a fight. It's all I have and although I have a steady job, I'm not getting any younger. The thought of having to start over, with bad credit to boot, is a little more than I can bear. Thanks!
