I went online this afternoon to double check their phone number, and instead of their firm coming up; a blog site came up. This site slammed the law firms of Griswold/Agedppa, Fransen & Molinaro, Loansafe and Moe as being scams. What is going on? Why is this blog saying these things? I am now really confused and more scared than I was. I started the loan modification process in Dec. 08, after reading lots of information on Loansafe. I felt I did my due diligence in selecting a law firm to help with a loan mod with Wachovia. I contracted with the law Corporation of Griswold and Agdeppa, this firm at the time was the one that Loansafe was promoting as being safe to use. I sent in all documents months ago, and they sent me the results from the loan Audit on the 30th of March. The audit did show FILA fraud among several other things that the attorney was supposed to explain to us. I had two phone consults set up, one I couldn't make, and the other the attorney wasn't able to make. I have left phone messages, although I haven't heard from them in some time. I thought with all that is going on with the economy and Wachovia and Wells Fargo that I would hear from the attorney when they had more news. This being the 27th of June, I am getting anxious, and in the mail today, I see that I missed getting a certified letter from Wachovia today. I haven't talked with Wachovia because we retained Griswold & Adgeppa. I hope to hear from you. Melanie |

I have gone and read the blogs about how unresponsive these attorneys have been. These attorneys are not acting responsibly towards these people. You have a good site and I know you mean well. This just isnt right. Snapple |

This website created by Moe with the help of *** and Prof Shays and other participants really helped people. The information and help I’ve received from this website really helped me how to deal with my lender CW. I am one of those CW Short Sale Seller success stories and got all my help free of charged. Before hiring lawyers even if they are recommended by your friends you need to know if they are licensed to practice law in your state and how many complaints they have on their files and you can find out that information through the BAR Association I made a mistake hiring a lawyer referred to me by my friend without searching about him. I hired this lawyer on a civil case and paid him $10,000 used my 401k money. I did not know then that I can find everything about this lawyer online. He had a class action lawsuit, his license revoked, his office shut down and he is now sitting in jail . Congress is now dealing with predatory lending. They will probably make a show of some sort of legislative fix, but legislation is not the answer — self control and common sense are needed on the part of the buyers/borrowers. Homeowners need TAKE THE TIME to read the contract or any documents presented to them to sign — if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, if you don’t fully understand it — DON’T SIGN! If there is pressure to sign —THAT’S A RED FLAG. DON’T! “ You can file a complaint against these attorneys at the BAR Association, here's their number, 1-800-843-9053 Attorney Complaint Hotline. You can check the license of these attorneys if you have their full names to see if they are license to practice law and the nature of their expertise. Here's the link: Attorney / Member Search You can also file a complaint online at the State Attorney General Edmund G. Brown. here's the link: Consumer Alerts, Information & Complaints - California Dept. of Justice - Office of the Attorney General When hiring lawyers you need to ask them questions:. How are you paid? Ideally, the first payment AFTER contract signing and last payment of 50% at closing. What will you not negotiate? Even after an offer is accepted, lawyers will refuse to negotiate “non-legal” issues. This usually means anything having to do with the price. Will you go through the contract with me before signing? You should hear a non-hesitant yes. And it’s a good idea to do this after you’ve had a chance to read it on your own. How many real estate transactions do you handle a year?- minimum of more than 20 closings a year. How much experience do you have closing? Listen carefully to his answers and follow your instinct. How much do you charge? The best answer is flat fee, don’t do hourly. Who is handling the file? The best is a partner or senior attorney. The worst answer is “we have a whole staff of people to help and I oversee it all”. Who will be at the closing? This should be the person who handled your file along the way. You don’t want someone who doesn’t know anything about you and your file. |

I was so relieved this morning to see that I was sent a reply from Griswold & Adgeppa shortly after my email was sent to them. Below is the reply from them. My concern stemmed from the bashing blog I read, up until then I had felt that I would hear from the attorneys when they had worked out a modification. As my email earlier stated I was and I still am confused about the blog I came across, and I don't understand why the name of the blog has been taken out of my original email, I certainly wasn't trying to advertise them. I am very thankful and relieved that I was able to reach the attorney by email last night by researching through loansafe. My day will be much less stress filled! I will post again when I find out more. Happy Sunday to all, Melanie
