Walking away from a home in Ohio that we do not occupy, served a summons from Chase which states that I have 28 days to rely to. Do we reply? Do we ignore? Do we need an attorney as we no longer live in Ohio? Thanks in advance for your help!

I received court papers on my home in Ohio. I live out of state too. I did not answer as it just keeps the process moving, I no longer can afford to keep the home. Tennants were a nightmare. I got my papers over a month ago or longer, the papers show the final process wouldn't be until next June. I'm trying to work with CITI for a deed in lieu.
It is really up to you whether or not you want to reply since you are letting the property go into foreclosure. If you would like to try and keep the property for longer I would answer the summons.
