I have a question on a Strategic Default. My husband and I are defaulting on a home in Washington. The home was purchased by him, before we were married. Both loans (80/20) are in his name only, as is the title...etc. My question is about keeping this off of my credit. We understand that it "shouldn't" show up on my personal credit report, but that sometimes things just magically show up on the other spouses report, albeit incorrectly. Are there any preemptive actions I can take to help avoid this (like a credit freeze, subscribing to lifelock or anything else) and what kind of process am I looking at to have an incorrect foreclosure removed from my credit?
