I have a question or two about what to do about having the electric turned off. We haven't done anything except turn the thermostat off(we moved out to an apt while we could still get one). Do we need to wait for anything or can we do it now? Also, when do we cancel our homeowners insurance. it has been paid by the (countrywide/BOA)mortgage co.it was paid in April of this year. do they cancel it or do we. do we get any refund from the insurance co.? I don't know what to do when and don't want to keep paying for things that I don't need any more. One more question, we have also had a car repossed and owe 11,500.00 for that and we are going to file bankrupcty will we be able to do it and include the foreclosed property as well? I thank you for all your help and I sure am glad we ALL have some where to go and ask questions. Thanks for everything. |

I would say it is safe to turn off the electricity ASAP. The homeowners insurance should be canceled out by B of A, so you should be fine there. As far as your bankruptcy goes, that is something you will have to work with your attorney on. But, from my understanding, primary residential mortgages are not allowed under bankruptcy protection.
