    B of A Fishing?

I just received a strange call from B of A, the holder of our 2nd. A customer service rep just called out of the blue (not late or missed at all yet)and asked to verify all my income and employment history. I was very cautious and did not divulge anything other than the very basics.

He also asked if I was aware my 1st loan was an Option-A (Duh!) and I was severely upside down. I am well aware of that thank you. I told him I would deal with that train wreck when the time came.

He also asked if I was aware I have a high debt load on my CC, also with B of A. Again, YES!...what is your point?

He then asked if I had any questions for him and thanked me for being a loyal B of A customer. End of call.

Anyone else experience this? What are they fishing for ? Is my situation a glaring red flag in there office or what?

    Feeling trapped,

I suspect they are fishing and trying to access whom might default on the 2nds they hold. Surprised they have enough staff and the wherewithall to follow up on these kinds of things. You may want to consider calling them back and asking them if they would settle on the 2nd without giving them too much personal information.

When I called WAMU last week to find out why I couldnt get to my 2nd information thru web site, they started fishing too. They always ask if you are still living in the property and try to dig for other info. When I began to ask questions of them, they got very squirrley. I have been blocked from getting any loan information on-line for my 1st and 2nd both held by WAMU.
