Angry What about the sheriff's departments that do these evictions?? Don't they have ANY remorse about their role??

I would LOVE to know what the people at the very ground level of this quagmire feel about this. I'm speaking of the sheriff's departments around the country that are required to carry out these forcible evictions everywhere. Don't they feel any remorse about this, knowing what they are doing to the thousands of families across the country, and the role they are playing in this horrible, gut-wrenching scenario? Do they ever have sleepless nights, knowing some of those evicted are children and elderly and disabled people? Why can't they just refuse to carry out these eviction orders, even if they ARE legal orders (what's happened up to that point certainly isn't legal!)? I just don't know how they can live with these things on their consciences, if they even have one.

I will admit I'm doing a lot of ranting and raving today.. I'm just having one of those days. One thing I know, I refuse to be a meek little mouse.. I'm Mighty Mouse, hear me roar!

I've read several articles that have interviewed sheriff's deputies regarding their role in the foreclosure process. Not a single person has ever expressed anything but sadness about this part of the job. But it's their job, and they have to do it. No, they don't feel good about it, and yes they feel guilty about doing it. That does not make them bad people.

They need their jobs, they need their paychecks. If they refuse to do their job, they get neither.

Ever hear the phrase "don't shoot the messenger"? The deputies are the messengers.
