Relocation Assistance under HAFA Short Sale

    Hi Guys,
Per HAFA program guidelines, HAFA will provide $3,000 in relocation assistance (Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives (HAFA) Program). Does any one know...how to pursue this? I received a Conditional approval of short sale from my bank yesterday. The Customer Service Rep & the Rep who is processing my file don't have a clue about this. Who should I be contacting? Any idea? Would appreciate your response(s)

    Thanks,
    JayNorthCA

I saw this and wanted to share as this event has helped many: NACA event holds hope for homeowners in need of loan modifications | abc7news.com live in San Francisco, and have neighbors who attended and did get on the spot loan mods done! The line is long and from what the news said worth the wait as they do the mod on the spot, no more lost papers or waiting. Check them out

    Hey Jay,

Yes you are correct, you should be receiving 3k for relocation assistance after the ss is complete. I'm not sure why or how they are not aware of this but I believe it does not arrive until after the sale closes.. If the rep cannot assist you with this request to speak with their supervisor/manager to help you more.. You should not run into any problems getting this money from them, that is a requirement they must abide by.
    Keep Fighting!

    Thanks for the response Evan

So do I need to do anything at this point...or should I wait till the SS is complete & then who should be my contact to claim the $3k, HAFA Rep or Bank Rep? They may have nothing to do with me after SS is completed...case closed. Please advise.

    Thanks again,
    JayNorthCA

I would advise the HAFA rep about the check about a week or so before closing. They should have more knowledge of this program then the bank rep.. However, if closing is just a couple days around the corner and still no one has an idea about the check, I would contact the executive's office right away..
