National Legal Help Center - Is this a scam or fraud?

Found this company on the Nolo.com website. I spoke w them on the phone today regarding possibly postponing foreclosure sale date. They said they would email me info about their services but I havent received it yet. They are nationwide but the office I spoke to is in Santa Ana, CA. Are they legit?

It looks like a lead generation site to me. The loan-safe.org site they are affiliated with is most definitely that. Typically a company like this is mass marketing and pushing litigation because of the heavy legal costs to the consumer.... typically. I do not want to discredit them as I have no personal knowledge of this company. From what I can see from their website they are a referral network. You more than likely have some initial cost that you have to pay and then depending on what state you are located in they will assign a processor to follow your file.

The appeal to authority fallacy is one of the most taken advantage of in the modification industry. One thing I can assure you is that if you want to modify your loan, there is no benefit to having an attorney outside of something that you could do yourself. The fact that they have an esquire attached to there name makes no difference to the lender. Legally there is nothing more so that they can do to get a modification done... that's just not how they work. Unless you are planning on suing the lender which again typically never gets anywhere. You have to prove actual malice and intent to cause harm monetarily to even have a case and even then you have the time expense and money expense to see it through... and even then it may not go in your favor.

I myself am not an attorney and can never give legal advice. This is based on my experience and what I have seen over the last 4 years. My suggestion to anyone whose goal is to get a modification...... you should never have to go the litigious route in order to accomplish your goals.

Need a foreclosure atty- northern california

Thanks Levi & Moe for the information.

I am beyond searching for loan modification assistance. I am currently in the process of a short sale. At the same time, Recontrust has filed a NOD with the county. No sale date has been set but I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

I'm looking for a foreclosure lawyer that might be able to assist me with postponing the foreclosure either now or when the sale date is announced should my short sale not be complete by then (90days).

Can you recommend any reputable foreclosure attorneys in Northern California (Sacramento)?

Or, refer me to a thread where this information might already be available?

    Thanks again!

    Lisa -

Our company LoanMod HelpCenter can assist you should you come up to a sale date. Although there are some reputable attorneys out there who handle this process, it is a appeal to authority fallacy that you need an attorney to handle this process for you. We can talk about the details so you are well informed of your options. My contact information is below, you may call me or shoot me an email.

This company is a 100% scam that uses bait and switch plus VERY deceptive advertising as well. They are now making it look like they are not only LoanSafe.org., but also Fannie Mae and .Gov mortgage programs.

If you go to their Loan-Safe.org SCAM website with the number 855-Law-5559 which is a fraud, you will see that they stole all Fannie Mae's creatives and it is now the same site as Avoid foreclosure and get the help you need : Fannie Mae but with a different phone number in order to fool and dupe unsuspecting homeowners.

I am turning this company into the FTC and mortgage fraud task force.

Sharing an experience I had with an attorney doing a loan mod for me. I found him locally here and they told me how effective they were at getting a modification for people, so I gave them two thousand and gave them all of the paperwork they needed, I called and emailed weekly and sometimes more often than thet. One day I was out working and I got a call from the bank saying they were turning me down for the modifaction because they did not get the paperwork. So I decided to put the finishing touches on my first lawsuit and took it and a tablet to take notes to an appointment with this attorney. I had a letter formally firing him to give him and I wanted $1500 back. I walked into his office and he immediately had an attitude. He sat down and was going through his computer of when each paper was sent or requested for. He said lets talk about a lawsuit. I said why should I let you file a lawsuit when you botched the loan mod? I then pulled out my first lawsuit and told him I already have one and it is being filed when I leave here. I called him on his purported document send in dates and took out a note tablet out of my laptop case and was just about ready to give him is walking letter when,he told me to leave and sit out in the lobby and he would write me a check. It was a full refund! I took the check and cashed it and went to my office and typed up a letter of intent to sue for breach of contract of his agreement, pointing out his violations and the injury caused me by the modification denial. What I wanted here was to have him stop his fraud. Later on I found he had stopped doing loan mods for people.

Thanks for sharing your story Jeffrey!

The reason is simple that you got your money back. You see, scammers and frauds are very afraid of informed and empowered consumers who make a stand just like you did. 99% of the time if you do just like Jefferey, you will get your money back if the company is still doing business. You have to be aggressive, firm and do not take no or no refunds for an answer because in the end, they are the ones who are operating illegally and or committing fraud.

    Jeffrey Strikes Again!

We need more folks who do like you do!

And here I will add: thank you to Jeffrey for all the people that attorney wasn't able to rip off because you stopped him when you did.

A lot of heroes go 'unsung', and I know you aren't fishing for compliments, but they are warranted.

You may never know how much evil you prevented in this particular instance; but just imagine how many more people he could have harmed in just a short time. What you did was good for you and other people, too.

Just another example of your good work!

    Fondly,

    Tarin

    That's Sorta What I thought...

    Hi Moe:

It's likely just operator error on my part, but when I searched YOUR Loansafe, I couldn't find anything about these guys, and three weeks ago posted my experience in the My Letter to BofA part 2. (Just now, I can't remember why I put it there...)

I remember being completely puzzled about the explicit reference to what I assumed was your community, but my dyslexia prevents me from seeing a lot of the minor typographic differences that jump out of the screen at other people, so eventually I just gave up trying to figure it out.

I DID get the email from The National Legal Help Center (sic), but I couldn't copy it to post on the Forum. I will be happy to forward it to you though, if it is of any assistance in your Fraud Report.

    Regards,

    Tarin

PS: YOUR forum is my first-ever attempt at an online anything. Members have been patient with me as I stumble through learning how to do things here (thanks everyone!) or I would have given up long ago. I have no idea what the computer screen looks like to regular people; but I don't think we see the same things. For example, I might wonder: Is the 'N' in your name silent, like the 'R' in swimming? Posting anything is often a real challenge for me. Still, I will press on for as long as you'll have me!
