I have seen all the above and longer. The homeowners that stayed the longest, called their lenders foreclosure attorney and obtained an extension to stay in the home till they located a suitable rental. I would call the lenders attorney and request that you be allowed to stay in the home for 2-4 weeks. I have also seen cash for keys. From $1,000-$5,000 to vacate fast.

Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTW/F/M Award(s): 0 | Re: How long can I stay in my home after foreclosure Yes, definitely call the lawyer and explain your need to stay longer...that you are still finding a place to move to, that you won't be able to get everything into storage in sufficient time, etc. They should be willing to accommodate you. And once you get the extension, you should confirm it in writing to the bank's lawyer so there is no dispute later on. And as Mo suggests, see if they will offer you cash for keys!
