After being turned down twice by Sovereign Bank for a modification on my loan, they sent me a letter advising me to call HUD or get an attorney. Why do I need an attorney? Will having an attorney help me stay in my home? I don't know if it's too late in the game for this or not, but I sent in a QWR letter. I really don't know what I'm doing, so if anyone sees this who might be able to shed a little light, I'd appreciate it. Thanks! |

But it would probably help to have a lawyer help you if you are getting nowhere. A lawyer may be able to advise you of potential claims you have against the bank that you can use as leverage to try to secure a modification.
