I need help!!!!

Hi,wondering if you can answer my question. Could I get a free mod. loan?? Live in Valrico,Fl.,tried to sell my home, the house next door has been empty for 1yr. and also another home 2houses away. My mtg. is with Carrington Mtg. and I was 2 months behind when they gave me a mod. they put the 2 payments on back of loan and gave me a 40yr. fixed instead of 30yr. My interest is 5.25, it only brought my payment down $100.00. I've signed NO PAPERS for this modification,so I believe it shouldnot be a problem. I've lost my job after 6rs. at Sweetbay Supermarket, so I;m really getting nervous. Please email and give me your thoughts about what I should do. I talked with a Mtg.Mitagator and would charge me $1200.00 or more to do this for me. I don't have that kind of money. Please Help!! Thanks so much.

Re: I need help!!!!

Ritchie - unfortunately I cannot help you for free. The process is too time demanding to do it for free. But I think you can do it on your own! I think you would do it better than the $1200 you were quoted. The $1200 companies probably are doing hundreds of these, and will not devote the appropriate attention to your file. I know it may seem like a daunting task to go back to Carrington and request another mod, but you have no choice! Re-submit your modification package and you may get your loan payments cut down even further. In my opinion, if you are going to hire someone to help, it is best to hire a lawyer; that way, if you have a problem, you can complain to the Bar which regulates attorneys. These other people are essentially unregulated.
