Hi, I'm getting ready to do a short sale on my home. I read everywhere that you have to wait 3 years or so before you can buy another home. Does this apply in every case? I'm looking into cheap housing opportunities that are lower than renting. Guess it would be considered non traditional as in something like a used mobile home or such. someplace where the monthly would be low enough to feel safe that we'd have a place to live until we could save up again. We being myself and my son who's 20. I see some selling for 10,000 and less. Maybe a hard money loan to buy it but still would be low monthly. Not a dream just a place to live that we know wasn't going anywhere that we could pay for for now until the new jobs pan out down the road. I'm past the point of pride or a beautiful place at this pont. just dont want to be homeless.
