    Unhappy Need help.. How do I get started ?I need to modify my loan PLEASE HELP

    Hello Everyone,
    I am new to this forum, This is my first post and I am totally lost on how to get started on how and where to apply, I am currently in pre-forclosure, My loan is wells fargo. Do I contact them and work thru them or do I apply online? what documents do I need to have? Do I just go back 3 months of total earnings and figure out how much the bills are and see what percentage of my mortgage payment is?? My husband is in remission from cancer and currently on fmla and since we obtained the wells fargo mortgage 4 years ago our gross income is down about 50% of what we use to make.. I'm just scared that we will lose our home and dont know where to start. Thanks for any help I'm on my own trying to figure this out, my husband is too sick to deal with this stress.
    Thanks in advance for whom ever can help guide me through this process,
    Kitty

    HI kittym,

    Welcome to the forum and thank you for joining.............

    I am so sorry that you are having to go through everything at once it would seem. That is good news that your husband is in remission. Hopefully we can help get you started here with one less thing to worry about.
    You have some options and you don't have to go through it alone if you don't want to.

    1st with Wells if you want to do it yourself you would begin the process here:

    https://www.wellsfargo.com/homeassist/loanmodification

    2nd if you would like some help going through the process you can go through either HOPE or HUD for free.

    Foreclosure isn't the only option! Homeownership Preservation Foundation

    U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

    You can also check eligibility and read about the program here;

    Making Home Affordable

    I hope this helps get you started, if you have additional questions, please feel free to ask.
    Best Regards,
