Pardon me, I am not at all educated about home mortgage and lending although I have been reading up the past week.

My mother has been dealing with IndyMac since October 2008, the year she lost 50% of her business income due to bad economy.

We bought out home in 2004 with two banks -- IndyMac (big loan) and Citibank and I supposedly have an investor now.

Mom is the sole owner and she did everything she thought she could in the past year to get a modification, alas even after filing, re-filing, triple filing everything and agreeing to packages, she kept getting rejected. Later in the year, my mom realized they had the wrong gross income and when she challenged them to put down the right figure ... Well, it is taking them months to do so. We also got told by a rep on the line to "keep on waiting" right after X-mas. Nice gift IndyMac.

Recently, after making some noise, I got emailed by an escalation specialist named Brenda Diaz and now Melissa VanTuinen is supposedly assigned to our case. But we also got a threatening call yesterday saying that they would deal us a foreclosure notice on January 19. So I am wondering if this is just a complete sham and a way to get us to pay IndyMac on a trial mod. while they still continue to foreclose us.

My mom is really ill with high blood pressure and in a bad condition from dealing with this mess. We are recent immigrants to this country and she's not educated--I am the person she sent to college and invested $$ in so I have to do everything I can to get her out of this mess and save our home.

I have just taken the files to HUD, left a message with the Housing and Economic Rights Advocates and signed up for NACA workshop. Beyond that, I don't know what else to do or our rights at this point.

I work as a new media consultant so I don't get much time to deal with this and I am headed to law school in another country later this year. Anyway, any help or advice would be appreciated and I wish everyone luck with their loan modifications. I would also love to help out in any way I can once I get more educated about these things.
