Just when you think this can't get crazier. When the postman delivered my certified Notice of Default today, while I was signing for it, I asked him "delivering a lot of these lately?" He said: "More than you could believe."

He went on to tell me that he himself had been through foreclosure.

He had lived just up the street from me.

How many months of non payments did it take for you to get your first certified mail from the bank?

Missed first payments on both 80/20 1st and 2nd mortgages on 9/1/2008. So I was only two payments missed at time of NOD. Last payments made were on 8/1/2008. For those looking for timeline samples: They know I am unemployed so that may be a factor.
