Re: Auction Date???

I think it depends on the new owner. Whether is the bank or an investor, etc. Some my gave days, others few weeks. Maybe someone that has gone through it already here can chime in. I'm curious to know as well.

Re: Auction Date???

Our house sold at auction on 9/1. It went back to the bank (Freddie Mac). The next day we had a note on the door from a local realtor informing us the house was sold and asking us to contact her. We called the next day and she told us we needed to negotiate directly with the bank as far as when we would surrender the keys, any relocation assistance, etc.

She told us she would forward our contact info on to the bank and they would get in touch with us in 10 days or so.

Today is the 18th and we've heard nothing. Nobody has come by the house (as far as I know anyway, we moved out on the 5th), no calls, nothing.

I'm actually getting sick of waiting and plan to call them soon myself. Seems we could have easily stayed there another month without any problem.

Re: Auction Date???

My house sold on Aug 31 and we were told we had 6 days to get out. We were already out though so it was no biggie. That was GMAC by the way.

Re: Auction Date???

Have most people's auction dates holding true? Or are they getting postponed by the trustee for some random reason(ie. backlog of sales, etc) I don't know if I should plan my move before the auction date or wait and see if it gets postponed a month and ride it out longer to save up more money.

Re: Auction Date???

you don't have to get out because a realor tells you to.they will do this to scare you,you only need to vacate when they stick a note on the door stating you need to vacate or we will start eviction and thats if you don't want eviction but you can choose to still stay in your home the sherriff will leave you a note saying you need to vacate by certan date don't let them threaten you it takes 7 to 10 days to even change over the title in thier name.my house was sold on september 16th i'm waiting for the letter and in the mean time looking for a place take a deap breathe people you have some rigts and time.

Re: Auction Date???

Mine was postponed once. The only way I found out was I kept checking the county court records to see if they updated my info and nothing. So I decided to call and the person told me that the auction was moved at MY request. I explained to her that I did not request any such thing and the next date stuck and it sold.

Re: Auction Date???

Guys, keep us all posted with your experience pls:- Mine auction date is on Oct 8th and we started looking for rentals... We have confirmation about the one we like and about to get leasing terms and move out this weekend. I plan to move some of stuffs to the rental and maybe leave a couple of clothes and mattress until county showed house not under my name anymore... I will try to negotiate cash for keys as well so I would like to hear from someone who experienced this already to give us tips how to negotiate and get the most $$cash for keys

BTW, do you need to change your mailing address now or it can wait until it is sold?
