Question Can they lock me out ?

So if my house goes into foreclosure - they will give me notice
that its going to be auctioned off right ?
Once its sold, do I have to leave, Id like the cash for keys thing.
After the sale if I go to the grocery store or to town for the day can they lock me out while Im gone ?
I have a big dog in from room of house that barks like crazy so they will know Im still living here.
I have kids and stuff so obviouly dont want to be locked out.
Im in Georgia - ChathamCounty.

Re: Can they lock me out ?

I wouldn't worry about them locking you out unless it really looks like no one's living there. If they lock me out I'm either a) picking the lock - nothing illegal about it since it's still my house or b) breaking a window - again.. still my house. It's not their's til the auction date when they either sell it per contracted agreement, or they take possession themselves. If they change the lock on me then they'll be taking possession of something with a pre-existing broken window, what a shame. (*shrug*)
