    What does 25&#37 mean?

I'm soryy for the dumb question. I see everyone talk about their settlemts as something like 25&#37 or 40&#32...

I'm assuming the % number is the % of the principle owed, but what's the rest?

    Thanks!

I think all of the characters after the & sign are blurps in the website. When you see 10&#37 it should say 10 percent (can't put the 10 and the percent sign together or it causes this.) I hope this is what you are asking. I wondered about it when I first started too.

Thanks so much... I thought it might just e a display issue... but was afraid I was just missing some important info!

As a general rule, are people talking about a percentage of the amount they owed when they stopped paying? Or the % of the total "trumped up" number after 5-6 months of late fees, interest, etc.?

    thanks!

That depends on the subject and context of the post. If they are talking about settling a 2nd, you will see something like settling for 10 to 20 percent. If they are talking about how far underwater they are, then as in our case, we owe 162K and the property is worth 83K, so we are about 50 percent underwater. It would all depend on what the thread is talking about and the context of the posts.
