HELOC for Rental and 1st on Primary Owned by Same Co.

    Hi All,

I am currently following the strategy for settling my 2nd, a HELOC owned by GreenTree Servicing. This is a rental property.

Our primary loan on our primary residence was also sold to GreenTree from BOA almost a year ago. My question is this...is there any way that my following the strategy for settling the 2nd HELOC on the rental property will affect my primary residence loan?? I am current on my primary residence mortgage and plan on staying that way.

Thus far my 2nd HELOC on the rental property is 2 months past due. I had to send them a cease and desist because they repeatedly called me at work even after I told them each time that I could not take calls there. My plan is to go radio-silent until they contact me with a settlement offer.

This is something I've been thinking about the last few days, as I know that GT is notoriously ignorant and hard to deal with. Just was curious to see if they would have any ability to mess with my primary residence mortgage. The rental...I care not what happens!

No if you are able to settle the 2nd mortgage on your rental property it should have no affect on your primary residence.
