I was told that we could find out if we've been sued by visiting our county's superior court site. The county that I currently live in does offer the facility of searching cases by party name on its website.

However, the county that we're moving to does not offer this service. Instead, in addition to know the plaintiff's or the defendant's names, you also need to know the corresponding case number, in order to find any information pertaining to any lawsuit that may have been filed against you. Since we obviously wouldn't know our case number (if we've not been served for any reason), is there another way to find out if a lawsuit has been filed against you or not?

Thanks!
