How do you check your credit score?

I know there is freecreditscore.com -- I hesitate to sign up and give them my credit card info, as I'm guessing it's hard to cancel within 1 week. Is there anybody else who charges a small one-time fee? How are you checking your credit score? Thank you for any advice you can offer.

annualcreditreport.com will allow you to get a free one from each of the three major CRAs once annually. https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

I go to myfico.com to get my credit score. I also check online for any discounts or coupons available to reduce the amount of the charge for your score.

I use USAA's credit monitoring service. It costs $12.25 per month, but has been extremely helpful to have during our loan modification.

You can purchase your score from each credit bureau individually on a one time basis via their websites.

Well, according to me the best way to get your free credit report is to visit annualcreditreport.com, a site created by the three credit bureaus under the Fair and accurate credit transactions or FACT Act. Other sites offer free reports, but usually require that you sign up for a monthly service to get your free report.

You can go to credit karma to get your transunion credit score for free. I have used sites like freecreditscores twice and have had no problems stopping service before they start to bill.

It is about two months after my foreclosure and my mid score dropped from about 780 before to 704 yesterday. My high score is 724 and my low score is 686. My transunion has actually jumped up about 20 points the last month or so. So far I only had one credit card company make a move, BofA. They cut my limit down to just about what I just charged and then sent me a letter that they would charge me $59 a year. I called them and cancelled the card. My AmEx, Capital One and Home Depot cards have not done a thing. Today I got both Home Depot and Capital One statements and I kind of braced for the worst because I did not have anything on either card but they were just offering me deals if I would use them. So far so good.
