Credit score movement after strategic foreclosure

    Hello-

I am reading here about lot of people keeping tabs on movements on their credit score month by month. How are people doing this? Can you pull your credit every month for free? (as long as its on you)? I am on 5th month of strategic foreclosure and have been scared to pull my credit to see what number is next to mine as I have never been under 800 credit score. it would be great if there is a place that I can keep tabs on my credit score each month.

    Thanks for your help!!

I get mine from freecreditreport.com. First one is free and if you wish to have access beyond that, it's $15 per month. Money well spent, IMO. I was surprised by the rebound of my score shortly after charge-off. At CO, it dropped 90pts or so. Then 2 weeks later it re-gained 60-70 points once my reduced debt:credit ratio "registered" with those powers that be. That little detail is 30percent of your score. Now I'm at 735 or so.

Thanks so much! few more Q.
Is the $15 a month for all three Bureaus?
The $15 only covers one report per month?
Can I pull joint or you can only do one person?
This doesn't hurt your credit for pulling too frequently?

Jumbo - I use http://www.creditkarma.com/. I'm able to keep tabs as often as I like for FREE. Just like you, I began with an 820 credit score. It hit a low point of 529, then bounced back up to 639 last August & has stayed there ever since. I'm 28 months behind on payments. What you see on the screen with this service is limited but it gives you a general idea.

There is no limit to how many times you look at your report, although it's only necessary once per month. Each of you would need to set up an account, it doesn't offer joint reports. It will have no effect on your credit score since it's a "soft" inquiry.

You can even utilize a "what if" simulator which helps you figure out how your score might increase or decrease.

    Jumbo:
The $15 at freecreditreport is only the Experian score. And no, it's limited to checking only 1 score. Unlimited access but really the score changes once a month. B/c are not "hard inquiries", checking doesn't affect the score.

The one at creditkarma is a "transcredit score" ?? Don't know what that is. Seems like this site, although helpful, is really trying to get you to apply for credit cards. They have 3 "scores" including an auto one. Maybe an industry method to gauge risk? Dunno. I checked it out for the fun of it and it had me at 690! 40 pts lower than Experian! ouch!
