It would be helpful to know what your loan amount is, your rate now, if this is the only property you own, and if you have actually sent any paperwork in for a mod-or just called customer service.

Try this number to discuss with a rep. : CW home retention: CW Home Retention 1-800-669-0102 To be honest, calling 5 times is not much...it will take alot of calls and persistance to get through. This process takes awhile unfortunately. You may want to continue battling the taxes also with the county. CW will not do that for you.

Verify that the hardship letter was received and will start your process within CW. If you feel you cannot do this on your own, contact a qualified attorney (check them out first using your states BAR association on the web) or, contact NACA:https://www.naca.com/refinance/refinanceSubmission.jsp They are a NON PROFIT hud approaved agency to help homeowners.

If there is going to be a reduction of the tax rate-it will have to come from the county/city tax office. I hate to say it...but if the tax people arent budging, there is not much else you can do to eliminate that amount.

It may help to have someone there who is comfortable with computers to help you while you do this if you are not. Take some time to do it....close out all other windows, etc...set aside the time.
