Unhappy Here is my Big Countrywide Problem in New Jersey

Ok here is my Countrywide Problem, I live in New Jersey we have an FHA loan at 6.25 interest our insurance is included in which Countrywide told our home insurance company it needed to be more than what it was originally it went from 1200.00 to 1771.00 so that was the first strike. We have a multifamily home there are 3 of us on the deed myself, my husband and my sister. My sister lost her job so we fell behind starting in July I have been calling and pleading with Countrywide and with no help. I kept calling and calling begging for help and all I got was we didn't qualify for any assistance. Now I am an investigator so my husband says and I was on the web site so they have a link in the Financial Hardship section that talks about a partial claim for FHA customers only I asked about that they told us the computer said we didn't qualify for it. Now they offer to put us on a repayment plan where they upped our payments by 1000.00 to help us so called catch up now it we were already struggling how can we go from paying 3334.00 to paying 4360.00 they told us since we have an FHA loan they could only give us a 3 month repayment plan then it went to a 4 month then to a six month but meanwhile we are struggling to pay the original repayment amount. I called again and I was told that we only qualified for repayment again I asked about the partial claim for FHA customers I asked them what was the purpose for having that kind of loan if we can't get assistance. I called FHA/HUd and they told me I had to deal with my lender and they had to call in which Countrywide wouldn't. So in Janu we had got an intent to foreclose letter they had us in for workout and it got declined because someone said we didn't live in our house and that was crazy. A woman was really rude the next day when she said we didn't qualify again and after I got off the phone with her I called right back and rep said we qualified for a Loan Modification so since Jan 22 it has been under review now I checked the website yesterday that said we were approved now with all the deceitful things they are dong I just don't trust it. If theytry to raise our payments what are we supposed to do we are still struggling and my sister said she is moving out. I am so stressed out. What are we supposed to do if this modification says we have to pay more I know that a modification requires or can have payments out on the back of the loan so I don't know. I do know that the message on the site says don't call or it can cancel our process or delay it people are trying to hold on but with stuff like that what are we supposed to do?

I am just at my witts end.

Unhappy Here is my Big Countrywide Problem in New Jersey

We own a multi family home in New Jersey. There are 3 of us on the deed, my hubby, my sister and myself. We have a fixed rate FHA loan, at 6.25. Our financial trouble started in July and I started contacting Countrywide from the start. I got the run around for months, I saw on their site they had a oartial claim for FHA customers in which their computer said we never qualified for. I asked what good is it to have an FHA loan if we can't qualify for FHA assistance. So the only thing their computer said we qualified for was a repayment plan that would raise our payments by 1000.00 and last 3 months because of the type of loan we had. We struggled with that and then they extended this to 4 months then wanted to extend it to six because we alledgedly didn't qualify for anything else. I called again and had this rude women rep say to me you need to get a second job. Some reps were understanding some were just disrespectful. AUpon speaking to her I called right back and a rep said we qualified for a loan mod now we were supposed to hear something by 2/12/2009 but just saw yesterday it was approved. I think there is a catch with this if they are going to raise our payments how is that helping us. So for months I hear we dont qualify then I hear they are talking to the hope department. I hope it is a good modification because if they raise out payments we are going to have to let the house go because we can't afford it. The site says don't call or they will cancel or hold up our process why would that happen people need to know what to expect I feel like you are hanging the balance of people lives in your hands. aI think Countrywide has some predatory issues going on and I don't know what to do. Our home insurance was 1200.00 ro 1300.00 Countrywide called and now its 1771.00 that's a big jump considering we have a house alarm and other things. I am confused I just need some guidance and if anyone has modified with them what should I expect?

I really need help in this matter I am physically sick behind this madness!!!!

Ok here goes, CW approved us for a modification about 2 weeks ago now I called the HUD center and they called them and got them to apply the moneies in the [artial to the account, I check the account in 3/25 now on 3/24 we were approved now on 3/25 we get the active processing phase, we are in pre processing then on 3/26 we are in the active processing now on 3/30 we were cancelled because we don't qualify. How the hell does that work? I called in and because we got the account down to 60 days past due we don't qualify now HUD said they shpuld have put the account in for a partial claim which they said we wont qualify for because we are not 90 days past due, we get and intent to foreclose letter today dated the 3/26 like you already knew you were denying our claims for help, I need to know what do we do? I printed out the things that were on the site saying active processing and pre-processing I just didn't print out the approval one but my husband saw that one. Its like we just can't win We need help and badly can someone please tell us what to do? Do we seek legal counseling or what? I am waiting for a call back from hud I need a miracle!! Mind you I am getting physically sick from all this my Blood pressure is up I am on all these different types of meds now!!! I can't sleep and the rep had the nerve to offer me an informal repayment plan!!!!

What do we do now?"

First CW had us approved for a loan mod on 3/24 then on 3/25 is was in pre processing then on 3/26 active processing then yesterday we didn't qua;ify for anything how does that work because a rep told me to keep making payments it shows good faith and another rep said we shouldn't have made any then another one said now we only qualify for an informal repayment plan where they originally put us that made us go through what we have been going through in the forst place!! I am calling HUD back today because it's crazy and I am calling a lwwyer because it seems as though we are getting bonked around and no one is trying to help us is we got current we can maintain the payments they don't want us to get current it seems to me!!! What Now

drobinson,
I do not know the specifics of your situation, but you may want to go through NACA:https://www.naca.com/refinance/refinanceSubmission.jsp.
Dealing with the "reps" at CW can result in alot of frustration...many times one hand does not know what the other hand is doing.
Use this contact to try and check out the final answer from CW on your loan:
CW home retention: CW Home Retention
1-800-669-0102

You may have been the victem of "false information" between reps.

Unhappy Re: What do we do now?"

Ok let me give you a brief overview. I have been trying to get help since Nov of 2008. I have been getting the run around until Jan. 09 then they put us in for a Loan Mod. Now we have a FHA loan in which the reps told me don't mean squat, to them. Now on 3/24 the account was approved for the Loan Mod and 2 reps said the paperwork was coming and it was assigned to a negoiator but 2 day later it was stated that the account was in the pre processing phase then the next day active processing now they are saying that the loan mod has been cancelled and they sent an intent to foreclose letter dated 3/26 when the account was supposed to be in the active processing phase we sent out funancials and a hardship letter like we were asked and we are not benefitting from this at all, So you already knew we weren't going to qualify for anything even after the account was approved. How does that work please tell me.

drobinson,
If they have told you that an intent to forclose letter has been sent, it is even more important to contact and start the process with NACA , ASAP.

Re: What do we do now?"

Thank you for your information I actually called a lawyer this morning because after calling Countrywide they lied on our financials and said we have a credit card payment due monthly in the amount of $250.00 and that's a lie our credit card payments are 15 and 36 dollars the most. I don't understand why people lie in order not to help the public. It is just sad and it is unethical.

Re: What do we do now?"

PLEASE call NACA. ASAP. We tried and tried to get help from CW and got one story after another until NACA helped us. We now have a low affordable fixed interest rate. CW refused to do anything longterm...NACA got it dropped for the life of the loan As many people here have stated CW doesn't play well with others...
