I bought the house in 2004. American Dream. First one of my mom's children to own their own home. We found the perfect house in the country where my husband had grown up. Close to his mom and dad. My youngest child was 8 at the time. After living in the city, renting and having people breaking into our home and stealing things I thought it was the perfect area to raise Emily. I'd worked for this company for 14 years. After we bought the house, my husband had a big stroke followed with mini strokes after that. I had to be off work in order to take him to his Dr. appointments. I had vacation time, sick time, and personal holiday time. Well, the new manager who had been there about a year who really didn't like me anyway tells me on a Friday afternoon that starting on Monday I would be working evenings and nights. There was no way that I could do that. He knew that. My husband couldn't hardly get out of bed to take care of himself. Who would care for my daughter while I had to work nights? I thought about this over the weekend and ended up quitting. Thinking that with all of my experience I would be able to find another job easily. That didn't work. I cashed in my 401k and we lived on that for awhile. In the meantime, my husband began to get better. One job lead to another nothing ever paying me over minimum wage. My husband had filed for disability but, of course it was a couple of years before they finally approved him. I finally get a full time job last Feb. My husband was approved for disability. We can now make the payments. But, I'm 10 months behind. I have a sale date of March 20th. And I'm scared to death. I fought and fought for 4 years to keep this house. Our home. And it would really be horrible that we lose it now, finally when we can pay for it. I just have no way of paying 10 months worth of payments. CW sent my information up for HSA. I was denied. Then, on Feb. 20th they sent my information up for a modification. I have been sending all the most recent pay stubs and bank statements (deposits only) to add to my information in the hopes that they will help me. They say it could take from 30 to 90 days for a loan modification. What do I do if that doesn't work? I feel like such a failure. I feel that I've let my husband and my daughter down completely. Has there been anyone in my situation who was approved a modification or some other type of work out on the past due amounts? Please let me know. I need a little bit of hope right now. Thanks, |

We were approved for a Mod that gave us an additional loan for the amount that we were behind on. Which raised the payment over $100 a month. That was unacceptable for our situation. By the way that took about 4 weeks to get the MOD from CW. So I am going thru NACA for a MOD now that will give me an affordable payment by reducing the interest rate over the life of the loans. NACA told me that if CW tries to do a foreclosure sale that they can stop that action while going thru a MOD process with them. Hang in there!!! People on this site can encourage you and answer some of your issues. |

Don't be scared! The moment you give up and let fear take over you will crawl into a corner and give in to this madness. You found this website, read as much as you can. Learn everything you can about dealing with the situation you are in. Knowledge is power. First thing you need to do is contact NACA and get the ball rolling ASAP with them. Let them know the urgency and the Foreclosure date. Once you have your package submited with NACA then they will take over and deal with CW on your behalf. Hold your head up and do whatever you have to to keep your home. BTW, we are going on our 9th month without paying CW and have already gotten 1 unacceptable MOD from them. We are now with NACA and will hopefully have everything rolling by the end of the week with them. Good Luck! | |

I have been speaking with a wonderful girl in the Escalation Dept. Whatever I send to Home Retention, I send her copies of also. She told me that she would personally watch my account for me and let me know if she finds out anything before I do. She contacted me yesterday and I told her how much I appreciated her help. In 4 years she's the only one I've ever spoken to at CW that has been helpful and sincere. She told me that she could not imagine having to go through something like this. That she did not own her own home and when she meets people who are sincere in wanting to save their homea she will try to help them in any way possible. CW needs more people like her. |

Starting the process with NACA at the sane time will confuse paperwork and your "place in line" Keep contact with CW if you hear negative-contact NACA

I informed her of the certified notice from the attorneys office of Notification of Sale Date for March 20th. She said that she would contact the attorneys office the next morning because her system didn't have anything about a sale date yet the Home Retention system did. She called me yesterday evening and informed me that she did speak with the attorneys office and that the Sale Date has been suspended/ removed. She said that it looked as if noone has been assigned to my case yet and she was concerned about that. She told me to send another letter of hardship, basically the same one that I sent in the beginning except to the attention of the CEO of Country Wide. To fax it to her and she would forward to the CEO office and that way it may make things move alittle faster. She has a certain program that she would like to try my case in and this way she can monitor it more closely. I sent the letter this morning and I know that she will be in contact with me. So far she is the kindest, most understanding person at Country Wide I've spoken to in the 4 1/2 years since I first got the loan on the house. I was so relieved. To tell you the truth, i came by her accidentally. It's like she was meant to help me with my issues. I compliment her everytime I talk to her. Hopefully, with her on my side and with her knowlege (she used to work in Home Retention) I may be able to save my home. |

I came into work today and my boss asked me into her office to see if everything is okay with me. I said of course it is. She asked "financially"? I don't want my boss to know that I'm behind on my house payments. She saw the sale date in the paper Friday. The sale date better have been cancelled. So, nice to have my name and home and personal problems advertised in the freaking paper. Pretty soon the whole town will know. How embarassing. |

LA times, fox business news, NY times, etc..etc... SOme aweful things were said about me also. In my hometown..well...lets just say it affected my business , social life..everything. The important thing to remember is your home-and no-one else is in your shoes (I have a very few friends who remind me of this when they see me going down) Its great that you have that contact in CW. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

My childrens home and I'll guarantee that where I live, noone would want the house anyway. Hardly anyone's even heard of Leon, WV. There is nothing there. When i bought the house back in 2004, it had been on the market for a year and only 3 other people had even looked at it. Do you think that CW would much rather work something out with me than sell my house at public auction? It really makes more sense, don't you think? |

I didn't think that my girl would lie to me. Amanda is the person she needs to speak with and she said that she has not spoken to anyone from CW. What is up with that? I'm calling her when I get home this afternoon to find out who she spoke with. I'm glad I decided to double check. |

Long story short both my wife and i lost our jobs, were living off 401 for a while, and looked to cw for help in late november, (home retention). ever since then it has been nothing. the website always says the same exact thing, processing and active processing not to call back untill after 12/15/08..that was months ago. I also tried the NACA but i get lost doing the process, cant get past step 2. I'm so scared that i will lose my home, (our dream home also purchased in 2004) we both are working now, and now we cant get an answer from cw one way or the other. were just lost in a fog. it sucks. Can i ask? how did you get a "contact" there at cw? i just get random people that always say the same thing. I have soo much anxiety over all this, just want it fixed |

Both of them at the same time can confuse them because of all the paperwork. So, I'm waiting to see what CW will do. The dept that I've been calling and that has really been understanding and helpful is the "Escalation Dept." Phone # 1 866 200 9624 I came by it by accident. Apparently there was a credit applied to my loan in error. So, they sent me notification on it and said if questions to call that number. I did and they are so helpful. And you can talk to the same person everytime unlike the Home Retention dept. If they hadn't messed up and applied a credit to my loan by accident, I would probably never have found that number or dept. They are 3 hours behind me. I believe they're in California. So, they'll be in until 5:30 Pacific Time. Monday - Friday. I hope this helps. Keep me posted. |

She looked further into the records and noticed that it had not been assigned to a "cancellation technician". She was sending e-mail to find out who needs to call the attorneys office and put my sale date on hold and I'm supposed to call her this evening to find out any updates. Will keep everything posted. |

The best way to make your case is to ride their lawyers as well as CW people to make darn sure that the right people, who have the final say-so, have been told to stop the sale!!! It's not like I don't trust what most CW phone people tell you, it's just that I don't trust what most CW phone people tell you!!!(LOL) Anyhow, I cannot stress enough, do this sale business yourself, do not rely, on what some operator that is looking on a computer screen tells you, comforting at times ...yes...realistic.....NO. Remember these people are being swamped with calls from people like us, or in similar situations, take it upon yourself to do the follow up...ALWAYS REMEMBER ...THIS IS MY FAMILY'S HOME I WILL NOT GIVE IT UP...!!!!!!NO MATTER WHAT, When you feel like it's the end of the road, it is ultimately up to you to go to bed every night knowing that you did everything that you could, including double-triple-checking every thing that you could to save your home!!!! I hope and pray. |

Just wondering which time zone you're in. That's pretty odd that you got an answering machine. I always have someone answer. They should call you back. If not keep calling them until someone answers. mshanie: Thanks for the advice. I 'm calling everyday. Apparently the sale date is cancelled in the cw system but not the attorneys system. They are still working on it. |

She informed me that she walked all of my paperwork directly up to the Office of the President, herself. She's also spoke with them and informed them of my situation and checked on the foreclosure technician about my sale date. I feel special. Is it a good thing when my case goes to the Office of the President? What exactly does that mean? |
