| CW Modification With Countrywide persistence is the key. I bought my house in April 2007 with a 9.55 % ARM for 2 years. I was approved for a refi in August 2008 at 6.75 % fixed but due to a shoddy appraisal did not close. Knowing my rate would go up in May 2009 I read the forums and sent e-mails to all who were listed at countrywide. I was never behind on my mortgage but needed to get a lowere rate and payment. Lisa at the presidents offfce called me in October advising me my hadship letter was received and negotiator would call within 24 hiours. He did and had me fax a hardship lette. He also told me that I did not have to make any payments until January and that he put a freeze on my credt and that I would not be reported late. I checked my credit report and all payments are reported as cureent including those non payment months. In mid November I was approved for a modification at 8% fixed for the remaining 28 years and 4 nonths. Again no wscrow is taken out and my payment dropped $ 100.00 . It gets even better, 2 weeks ago I got unsolicited a new modification that drops my rate to 5.5% and my payment another $ 170.00. I notarized the paperwork again and sent them back, I mentioned this website to my negotiator and of the thousands of other Countrywide borrowers who need relief This is a great site and has very useful information and insight from fellow homeowners. In conclusion you can be current and get a modification. |
