| questoin for the experts Hello, I am new to this site and well I will tell me story. Last year in 2007 was great, I graduated from college, landed a solid job, got marreid, and bought a house. Well, since then things didnt go as planned. My job was terminated by our governor this past July, but I got a new job in June. But my new job is out of town a ways and I was commuting back and forth. With gas being over $4 we decided to move the family closer to work and place our house for sale. It has been for sale for almost 6 months and I have been on time every month. My question is to you, things are getting a little tight because of owning 2 places and paying for heat and etc. for upkeep. Is there a possible way to ask for a deferment from Countywide for one month so we can have a Christmas? I have heard of people doing it before on car loans and etc. Also, my student loans are going to be coming due this month. What should I do? |

| Re: deferment? Hi jorswift, Welcome to the forum and thank you for joining............... If you have not done so already you would need to contact Countrywide and ask what options the investor on your loan has...............and see what they will be able to do. Home Retention 1-800-669-6650

| questoin for the experts Hello, I am all new to this, but I have a quick question. But before I get a comment to call the numbers at countrywide, I want to hear from you, not countrywide. I already called them and got the run around. Here it goes... I am current on my mortgage and have been for alittle over a year. My circumstances have changed and have had to move due to work. I am currently living in another town renting while I am paying for my home while it is up for sale. I have been current on all my payments, but I am wondering if countrywide has a program or any insintives to help people who are current in my situation? I know some other lenders are helping with a lower rate. Does any body have any experience or advise in this situation? thanks. |

| Re: questoin for the experts It would be best to call them instead of emailing...it sounds like you need to request a "forebearance". Check the website under home retention for available options for your situation. |
