| | | Greenpoint to Countrywide This forum is amazing and so helpful. Thank you everyone who are willing to help. I was wondering about greenpoint mtg. Does anyone have stories or advice. I contacted them 3 weeks ago and they sent out a packet. I filled out everything to your specfication. and the financials, etc. they wanted. I have not heard anything yet. I will call in am.
we have 1st mtg arm that expires in March with them and a 2nd mtg arm through Citi bank. Our problem is I got laid off my job and we lost 1000.00 in income. My husband job had a slow down as well. Up to this point we are current with both lenders, but barely. I am praying and hoping for a loan modification with both lenders. I emailed Citi bank last night with a hardship letter and emailed it to all the employees Cat provided. I received a phone call this morning and they will be sending out a packet for us fill out. Any advice would be great. Thank you. | | Re: green point

| | | Re: green point I called Greenpoint today and the paperwork I mailed 2 weeks didn't arrive. So I faxed everything and I will call tomorrow. Another number for loss mitigation is 1-800-784-5566, press option 1, option 2 and ext. 5383. I was able to get through immediately. Yes, waiting is hard. My payments are current, should I continue to make them on time? As my situation is I recently lost employment and we are living on my husbands only and all savings gone that was helping to make mortgages. We are being proactive before the ARM change our payments. I was wondering if anyone has had success with going about loan modifications this way. It seems most people on the forum are behind on their payments. Anyway thanks again to all you folks. | | | Re: green point Here is the update with Greenpoint Mtg. I phoned today I talked to Carlos in loss mitigation. carlos said there was nothing in the system about the paperwork I faxed and mailed to greenpoint. He was quick to say based on what I told him on the phone a modification would never get approved. I asked for the name and phone # of his supervisor. I phoned her immediately, her name is Stephanie. Funny thing she found all the information I faxed. She is ordering a in home appraisal, which we pay if the loan is modified, and said most requests are approved by the investor. Why is appraisal being done? She said that didn't determine any approval. That is my update. Wow I can't believe no one out there has any dealings with Green point. Have a great day. I will keep you posted. | | Re: green point | |

| | | Re: green point Ok I need help with greenpoint. We are going on the 3rd month of trying to do a mod. They have gotten all the paperwork, did an appraisal and now it is as if we have dropped of the face of the earth. In addition to this mod (1st mtg). we are trying to do a mod with our 2nd mortg. (citi bank), the only info citibank needs is a 30 day payoff from greenpoint. they will not get me the payoff. I have left several messages with the person working on the mod, have faxed several requests asking for this (as per their policy). I don't know what to do. By not getting the 30 day payoff citi won't finish the mod. So the problems are two fold, no payoff no moditication on 2nd mtg and no idea what happened with Greenpoint. I wondering if there are some people higher up with the company I could contact. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Joy | | Re: green point | |

| | | Re: green point Today I phoned Green point and got to nice lady. She looked at our file and said there had never been any requests for payoff. (oh brother), she said she would take care of it right away. I also asked her if our 2nd mortg. person Richard could call a get it and she put his name on the notes for our file saying he had permission to get 30 day payoff. So hopefully I will be a step further in getting our 2nd mtg modified. Thank you again. Joy | | Re: green point | |

| | | Re: green point I also have a Greenpoint mortgage. I'm behind on my mortgage payment for 1 month and before I got a chance to submit my loan mod package, I got a letter that states that they already sold my loan to Countrywide and starting Nov 15, all payments should go to Countrywide. Now, my question is should I work my loan mod with Countrywide now or with Greenpoint still ? | | Re: green point | |

| | | Re: green point At this point it might be best for you to wait until the loan transfers and then submit a modification package with Countrywide.............just keep checking with CW to see when they receive your info and it is transferred.

| | | Re: green point That is interesting. Greenpoint just finally got the payoff to Citi financial. So hopefully I will get the mod from them. Do you have any good contact people for greenpoint. I just keep leaving messages with them. I would try to contact greenpoint to see if they can transfer all the info you have given them. I wonder if that is why I am not getting any response from Greenpoint because my loan will be sold to Country Wide???? Time will tell. Good luck. Joy | | Re: green point | |

| | | Re: green point Hi Kids,
I too have Greenpoint as my 1st lender. Knowing that they are impossible to deal with, I had been resigned not to even try a loan mod, since I want a partial write-down and already have a good interest rate. I want to clarify that the notice we received did not say the loan had been SOLD to COuntrywide, but that it the SERVICING had been changed. The difference is that even though we'll be dealing with Countrywide for Loan Mods, I don't think we'll be subject to any of the same conditions as Countrywide/Bof A originated loans.
Nevertheless, I think this is GOOD news because a) Countrywide is so slammed busy, that they will be slower to take actions like sending the NOD & other legal requirements. b) They might actual be willing to negotiate in good faith. This last is a small chance but I had been hearing zero before, so we'll see.
Let's continue to share our GPoint stories...I stopped paying in September, and have been getting auto-dialed spammed to call them. There is never anyone on the other end when we pick up the phone! so we're going to wait and see...
Good luck, all. | | Greenpoint to Countrywide

| | | Greenpoint to Countrywide So today I received a letter in the mail stating our Greenpoint loan was now a Countrywide loan. I called Countrywide and they said they haven't received all the documention from Greenpoint and to call back the end of next week. (Thanksgiving weekend, that get me far. Not) Greenpoint has had our info for a mod since October 1st. They even had our home appraised. Now I am wondering what the next step will be. Anyone out there in the middle of a mod that has gotten transfered to a different company. Advice please. Thanks. Joy | | Re: Greenpoint to Countrywide | |

| | | Re: Greenpoint to Countrywide there have been a few members transferred in the middle of a modification.............if the modification never was approved and docs were not sent out.............then unfortunately you would need to wait until your information get transferred and work on the modification with Countrywide which might not be a bad thing...............since Greenpoint has not helped yet............
