I just wanted to make a post to say that I have won my case against Countrywide after 8 months of going back and forth with them. I was on my own for a long time until I discovered your site, and the information regarding e-mail addresses and phone numbers that Cat has posted has been very useful in expediting my case.
My payment increased by $400 a month, and as a mother of 5 children, working 2 jobs, you can appreciate the impact of the increase.
I want to let everyone out there know that they should not give up. There is a process, and any process does take time. Just hang in there and see things through.
I have sent paperwork three times, and been denied a modification twice. My recent attempt got me a five year rate freeze. The last time I called my negotiator, she said things had changed and they decided to give my introductory rate for the life of the loan. Recieved my paperwork (very simple forms), sent them back, and here I am today!
No initial payment, no appraisal fee and no extension to the term of the loan.
Thank you so much for all the help this site has provided!
