Looking for some help/advise

I have been trying to work with countrywide for almost two years. In Sept after having a Sale date canceled from August, I was told to wait for workout package arriving on or before 9/25. Between August and 9/15 I placed at least a dozen calls to countrywide. Messages stated that all collection activity had been temp stopped. Then on 9/16 I called and was informed that my home had been sold 9/10, the lender had purchased and there was a confirmation of sale hearing today 10/7. I hired an attorney and we filed for Chapter 13 and my attorney appeared today at the sale hearing. The attorney is telling me with the Chapter 13 in place it will give me time to negotiate a workout. I live in IL and have also been in touch with the attorney generals office regarding the settlement with BAO/CW that was made public yesterday. I have a fixed rate mortgage and not sure if I qualify for any relief? Any advise would be very helpful?

For any type of modification you may need to get permission from the court and have your attorney fascilitate that with Countrywide.............you would have to call and check if they will work directly with you if your file is coded BK.

So there is still hope to save my home even though it was sold back to countrywide/bank of ny? What does file code BK mean? If the hearing was today how long should I wait?

I have been in touch with the attorney generals office and they are sending me a package to fill out.

I meant the attorney that you filed the BK (Bankruptcy) with, might have to help you with Countrywide.................and I do not know if they will be able to work anything out with you.............you would need to call the number above and see if it is too late or not.........it would all depend on the foreclosure laws of your state.

My sale confirmation hearing was today. The sale was not confirmed by the judge. Now I have to work with Countrywide and negotitate a payment I can afford to make with my bankruptcy filling so I can keep my home. Please if anyone has any comments to post please do. I need all the input I can get at his point
