This isnt the first time that Contrywide has had problems with ID theft by employees. This is Countrywides fault the employee stole the information over a 2 year period and he stole alot of it. Countrywide should have had safeguards in place to prevent this. A business is responsible for what is done by their employees when at work and in this case this should not have been allowed to happen.

Well heres the skinny I have had several credit cards compromised and who knows whatelse as a result of the ID theft and all Countrywide wants to 2 is give stinking 2 years of fraud protection. I called another number and the jerk rep had to be told 11times to let me speak to his Supervisor and nothing was accomplished. I hope you guys dont get hit.

Re: Stolen Info by Countrywide Employee!

Has anyone else had actual fraud from this yet? I have to check all of my credit cards and bank accounts daily beacuse of this even though I had changed the numbers. Someone by the name Beatrice Mata tries to purchase airline tickets weekly on one of my cards.

I am on the same boat as you. I received the same letter from Countrywide but my husband did not.

I called customer service to request a pass code for free credit check for my husband (since we are both on the loan) but the customer service rep. said that if he did not get a letter it means his information was not compromised. I still wonder how it is possible for my information to be stolen but not his.

So far there has been no fraudulent activities on my credit report. The free credit tracking from Experian sends me monthly notification of the status of my credit. I should get one for my husband but it will be an additional cost I have no room for. :/

Re: Stolen Info by Countrywide Employee!

my information was taken as well. They will give you free credit checks to your account. Nobody can acess your credit report without them checking directly with you. I had a credit card taken out and reported it to Experion and they erased it from my account. The account was closed.

Good thing my credit score stinks at this point!!!
