loan modification pinball

Hello, I just want to thank everyone for the wealth of info I have recieved in this forum. I wanted to ask others if they also feel like a ball in Countrywide's loan modification pinball machine waiting for answers. It has been over 3 months since the intial process of my loan modification process was started. I have been waiting on a negotiater to get assigned since July. I call twice a week with them saying they will email the negotiater and should get a response in 48 hours, I have learned to not cross my fingers that whoever they emailed will call back if they even sent a email.

Are others getting this run around?

It's tough trying to keep your sanity waiting on Countrywide. I have found refuge cleaning out the basement and closets finding stuff I forgot I had. Amazing how much junk one collects.

Haven't recieved a thing. Been told that either a negotiater has yet to be assigned, one is assigned and should get back to me or there waiting on investor approval. I have been told they have everything they need and it looks good. Should I take it a step further and call the office of the president to see if they can push things along?

I have found the second shift call center people more informative. The lady tonight apologized saying it shouldn't have taken this long and seemed true to her word that an email was getting sent to the negotiator.

dont really know, i got fedx papers pretty fast after calling, mow im waitting for my 1 st payment an for them to update the system i guess.

but i would call untill i got someone that i could get answers.

Hi Slimpickins... we have been doing the pinball thing since Feb of 2008. Have been using all the wonderful contact info and methods on this site since May of 2008. After being passed around from department to department, have had several negotiators, we were told that we would absolutely have a final answer on 8/27 no matter what.... heard nothing on 8/27. We called yesterday and the negotiator said it could be 3 more months before we receive a modification. Just ridiculous.... We have been asking for a modification by making contact via fax, phone and email at least 3 times a week for 7 months now... The status listed under our online account disappears every few days, then reappears with the status of "loan modification workout" under four different dates. Anyone have any input as to how to put a fire under their butts? We have followed the method on this site since May- surely the run around is because we are not behind on our payments. They have been attempting to block our payments though.

I have been waiting since May to get a loan modification from Countrywide. My property taxes are due, should I pay them or should I wait until I get my loan modification? If I don't get the modification I will lose my house. I have the money for the taxes but don't want to waist it if I don't get to keep the house.

We can not advise you on whether to pay your property taxes or not........that is a decision that only you can make.............

what I can tell you is that if you do not pay the taxes then the lender will pay them on your behalf to avoid a lien being placed on the property. They will then set up an escrow account for you to pay the amount that they forwarded on your behalf in addition to current taxes which they will then escrow for.

Thanks Cat, it was another headache besides waiting on the approval that I was wondering about. I maid a mass amount of phone calls late last week and hope I will find out more this week.
