| | | MERS - what is there correct service agent /address Hi! I have a loan with Countrywide, property is in California, they are foreclosing and I am fighting them back in court.
From court stand point, there are 2 entities to call on, Beneficiary, which is MERS (Mortgage Electronic Register System) and Trustee, which is Loanstar.
With Loanstar I had no problems, served them in Simi Valley and everything is fine.
With MERS though, things went tricky, their address mentioned on Notice of Default (400 Countrywide way ....) also in Simi Valley didn't work, people there (obviously, a Countrywide office) said they don't accept served papers for MERS.
Database with Secretary of state (California) says there MERS'S license has expired.
MERS's website says their address is in a completely different state.
Question is - does anyone knows, how can I serve MERS, at what address? I need to have them served personally with complaint and summons.
or - does anyone knows if I can serve secretary of state instead? (and how?)
THANKS! | | Re: MERS - what is there correct service agent /address | |

| | | Re: MERS - what is there correct service agent /address Thanks! I will call them first thing monday morning and see what they have to say, meanwhile I tried to google it and to my surprise I found that finding and serving MERS is really an issue for many people in many states, to the point that there is a professional server's website, which is created just for that purpose alone, serving MERS in their secret location (it is even explained on the webpage why it is secret).I am now away from that PC from where I found it, but I place a link here soon. | | Re: MERS - what is there correct service agent /address | |

| | | Re: MERS - what is there correct service agent /address Today talked to Brandie Peeples from this list of contacts provided by Cat (thank you, Cat!), she said personal delivery service can be done at corporate address, which is available at MERS's website MERS - Mortgage Electronic Registration System and is:
MERS
1818 Library Street, Suite 300
Reston, VA 20190
Phone: (800) 646-6377
Fax: (703) 748-018
I personally don't accept this as a final correct answer until I try it and prove it working, but this is better than nothing, so I am sending papers out today, let's see how it goes | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
