overwhelmed & stuck with countrywide

Hello everyone, please excuse first time. I have just been reading for a couple months taking it all in sorry ,i was scared .this is my story
countrywide holds ST mortgage and ND .owned our home since 1992. we refinanced in 2003,2004,2005,took ND out in 2006. there it began . now knowing predatory signs to look for oh mg!(i 'll get back to the predatory stuff in a minute)

SO anyways we fell behind Jan.2008 .due to decreased hours at work. thanks to Loan Safe.org and everyones stories. i sent hardship letter, income expense Countrywide approved the loan modifications . only thing is the "new terms" i just could not for see how this is going to help me. I still had two loans, monthly payment increased and the 2ND adjusted 3 times next 3 years both had some kind of balloon payment if balance left after term is over any left over was due with interest?? they added amount missed payments to loan. no sooner did i get this "loan modification" fed ex .did not even get to read . First American Title was calling to schedule notary coming to my WORK? then i have the notary calling 6 times the same day i received the paper work.once again i was in shock ! they were trying to pressure me into signing !
the more paper work i gathered from loan origination the more nervous i got. soon after I sent 4 certified- qualified written requests- 1 to Old Republic Title and 3 to countrywide addresses that i got from loan safe! I sent them on 7/8/2008 .
i was looking over closing paper work for the 2003 refinance i noticed two bills that were supposed to be taken off $689.00 & $1,392.00 and it has been on with all charges research. so far to date I have found over $3,700 in charges that should of not been on our final closing paperwork. is it normal for them to round off to the next dollar? it just doesn't seem right every penny adds up. I thought you are only supposed to round to next dollar when you balancing your checkbook! LOL
It seems now looking back the broker (think he played roll of "broker" made thousands!)he was involved 2 or three times. So heres another question : if this loan is bad didn't it greatly affect all refinances and the equity loan that came after? i had a lien at county recorder for $1089.00 they paid it but kept is as unpaid until my 2005 refinance. didnt this effect my credit score.countrywide has sent 2 letters stating they have gotten my request it will be forwarded to office of president. I'm sure one went to that address. on Aug 13 i phoned old republic title for the second time asked for Cathy who had pulled my file before i sent the qwr. she proceeded to tell me i must not of got final set of closing paper work. I said "WHAT DO YOU MEAN " i was not going for that. so then she said my file must of got sent back to storage she would have to get back to me. so now i do not know what to do HELP! I never brought up sending the qualified written requests should i?

i did not to expect to find so many errors
every time i refinanced ide think to myself im not gonna get approved but every time i did just to get behind and refinance again. i really trusted the people that were "helping" me .i did not even think twice when they did the drive by appraisal, notary showing up at my house ,signing loan docs in my breezeway any questions i had the notary didnt know .she could only point and say sign. my theory is there is some kind of pattern
the first 2 refi's sbma(secured bankers mortgage) was the lender for a month but it would actully end up to be 2 months then i would get a different lender i never made a payment to s.b.m.a. i am going to stop for now .i apologize for the scatterbrained story thanks gmc789

Welcome to the forum and thank you for joining........

I am a bit confused...............did you sign the modification? Do you have questions on the modification?

Re: overwhelmed & stuck with countrywide

sorry, I'm really out of it. no I didn't sign the modification. I know (because of loan safe) and some commonsense to sign would be stupid. I realize through embarrassment I need to focus . OK . I'm not sure what to say to countrywide about the predatory modification .it it negotiable? I want to pay what i owe i want a reasonable monthly payment i can afford . i feel countrywide was trying to pressure me into a bad modidication.they would eventully end up taking my home !

Re: overwhelmed & stuck with countrywide

Modifications are not generally not predatory.............the amounts that are put back into the loans are amounts that are past due with fees that are owed...........and you don't have to accept a modification..........
but you would need to know that the modifications are given by the investors on the loans and not by Countrywide..........they give the parameters of what they will and won't do............

What were the exact terms of the modification versus what your loan terms were before the modification? Were you behind on payments and how many months in default were you? Did you receive an NOD or a foreclosure sale date already?
