FINALLY good riddens to CW

Quick BIO.....
38 yr old male, married my HS sweetheart, we have with 3 kids, we BOTH work our butts off. I work for a local municipality(14 years), and my wife is in the restaurant business(bartender). We live moderately and DID not buy our home during the Palm Beach BOOM. It was purchased in 1999 so our mortgage is not an inflated value, our home is worth more than what we borrowed.

Our story is like many of the others on the site so I'll save my fingers(and your time) by keeping it simple.

Started our "workout progam" and "loan modification" in Nov 07. (What a JOKE those terms are)

We were TOLD "Not to make payments" on our loan and were re-assured more than 3 times that it would not sneak up on us and be viewed as "delinquent" as we were listed as being in "review" for their workout program. We were even instructed to utilize those funds to "pay down our debt" as that would HELP us in the program. LIES LIES LIES...!!!!

I called repeatedly, spoke with multiple reps and always got DIFFERENT answers or advice. My case was assigned to Latisha Jackson in November 07, I still to this day have NEVER heard from her, even though I was promised that she would call. We were veen told one time that we were approved and that our NEW payment program would be arriving in the mail within 5 days. NEVER happend, and when I called to speak to the Supervisor(her name alludes me at this time but I have it at home) I was NEVER able to get her back on the phone either. After MONTHS of mis-information and the WORST customer service I have ever seen from a company we began making other arrangements to GET RID OF COUNTRYWIDE permanently.

In May of 08(6 months after we applied) we received the letter stating we did not qualify for the "program" due to "investor guidelines"...LOL
This company is a JOKE.

Needless to say we went into "seriously delinquent status" and were threatened with "FORECLOSURE" as expected unless we became "current". They even sent back payments we had made because they didnt cover the "ENTIRE" delinquent amount we owed....even though we were told to send in whatever payments we could by 2 different reps in order to help bring down the delinquency amount. What a JOKE...

So you would think with THEIR complete lack of attention to our account, THEIR complete mis-information provided by the reps, and THEIR complete and UTTER useless workout program(which by the way would have yielded us HIGHER payments anyway), you think they would be a little helpful in removing a few of the late payments which were LATE because they told us to "NOT MAKE PAYMENTS".......NOPE, they absolutely flat out refuse to remove any of the 6 late payment fees that were assesed to our account. This comes after being told in June by Nash, that after we became current with the loan, his supervisor believed they would be able to remove at least 2 of the late fees, maybe 3.

Well, we became current in Mid June and I called them to see what we could do on the late fees since we met our obligations as we promised we would, and I was told "Sorry, we have decided that we will not remove any of the late fees". I was stunned, I said your rep, Nash, assured me that he had already spoken to the Supervisor and they said they more than likely be able to remove at last 2 or 3 of the fees. he said "yeah, I see that listed in the computer, but it wasn't a gurantee, were not removing ANY of the late fees"

So to SUM it up...LOL.. COUNTRYWIDE and thier REPS misled us, misguided us, FLAT OUT LIED to us, and treated us like they were doing us a favor. They have the audacity to act as if they have done nothing wrong...SHAME on them and their reps.

I for one will be taking my business and my MONEY elsewhere.

Paying Off our Mortgage - Advice

We want to pay off our mortgage.

We owe over $300,000.00 to Countrywide and are extremely fortunate to have the means(from family) to pay off Countrywide in FULL. We obviously will still OWE the money, but just NOT to Countrywide..

Is there any advice that you could provide that will help us with this LARGE sum payoff?

Can we negotiate the value of the mortgage, the fees assesssed, or maybe the pending late payments from our ridiculous attempt to get into their "workout program", etc..?

Thanks for the welcome....

Have been viewing and reading this site for 2 months and it really helped me cope with the issues at hand. I knew I wasnt alone in CW attempt to STEAL houses from hard working people. In my opinion, that is what they are doing. They LIE, they midlead, they mistreat, and then they expect you to be able to recover a LARGE sum of funds in a short period of time in order to KEEP your home. Its absurd and they should be held accountable for it.

We delt with the same story as most of the concerned parties here whenit came to the so called "Work Our program". Mis-information, LIES, deceipt and flat out FRUSTRATION in ever getting a straight answer from any of the nitwits that man the lines for this JOKE of a company.

I am happy to report that as of Monday August 4th we are FREE and CLEAR of COUNTRYWIDE thanks to the financial assistance of my step-brother(YES, we are extremely fortunate to have had this option) and we are more appreciative than you could ever expect.

I can tell you this, the FREEDOM we feel from the stanglehold of a beligerent irresponsible company is overwhelming and I only wish that ALL of you going through this NIGHTMARE get your revenge on Countrywide.

This site is an AMAZING source if info and was a HUGE help for me and my family knowing that we were not going through this alone.

Thank you, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remain diligent in your pursuit of GETTING away from Countrywide as FAST as you can.
