Countrywide - Uggghhhhh!!!! I Need Help Again

Hi All,

Sorry I have not been online. I hurt my back and it's very hard to get around especially trying to sit down for a long time.

Well, in June I got results from Tabitha from Countrywide for my loan modification. My original thread is titled Hot diggity dogg!!!.
She was very helpful in getting my loan modification updated in the system as of June 12, 2008. Countrywide Home Loans was too slow in updating their system that they had me behind on my payments.

The loan modification was approved until February 2013 with a monthly payment of $1,341.20. When Tabitha called me to tell me that she corrected everything in the system and also sent a correction letter to all three Credit Bureaus. I thought this was the end of CW saga.

Well, guess what??? I received a Fed-ex package with another loan modification (how is this possible?), which they will reduce my interest rate and the modified monthly payments would be $1,573.15. (OH NO!!!)

I called Tabitha's number and I guess I got customer service and just spoke with Lonnie. After explaining everything and he looked up my account, he told to disregard the paperwork. He also verified that I have been approved with my first modification, which the monthly payments are $1,341.20 until 2013. I told him "Thank you."
But I don't know. This is tooooo weird. I don't know if Tabitha stayed on with CW. Like I said before, I haven't logging into the website because of my injury. It just baffles me that they sent this paperwork, which is dated 7/20/08. What should I do????

Just make sure that your account is updated to reflect the mod..........
are your statements reflecting the new payment amount?

I left her a voicemail message. I am pretty sure, she will call me tomorrow. Thanks, ***. I'll keep you posted. Have you heard of anyone else experiencing the same thing?

not exactly like this...........but just make sure that the account and your statements reflect the correct amounts..........

Sure, everything is current. According CW's website. My adjustable rate mortgage rate change date is 3/2013.

Tabitha called today and said I can ignore the paperwork. My mortgage is current and there are no changes. She also told me that if I see any changes made to my monthly payment amount; I can call her to get it corrected.

She said that she did not know why the paperwork was drawn up. It may be that CW may have an outside agency (something to that effect) who are drawing up loan modifications.

Well, what a big sigh of RELIEF!!!!!!

This is really ridiculous, now. Some dumb-dumb negotiator working for Countrywide Home Loans put a code in the computer, which is preventing me from scheduling a payment online. I even called customer service and the man I spoke with verified that the negotiator put a code and the funds has to be certified. He couldn't take the payment over the phone. I always schedule a payment on the 30th of the month for the following month's payment.

And I checked my account online, last night (why I didn't schedule a payment then, that's my bad), which it was normal. Today, it's showing my rate will adjust 8/1/08 when my loan modification locked in my rate until 3/2013. These people really got me upset. It's like the left hand doesn't know what the right one is doing. It's really nerve racking.

I called Tabitha and left her a message. I am pretty sure, she will get back to me, tomorrow. But I am stickler on when I send in my payment. I hope no one else is going through this. I even told the customer service guy, why would someone put a code when everything is current and correct. It is beyond me!!!!!!! It's a pain in the a#$ to get away from work to go to the bank and get a cashier's check when it's easier to send a payment via the Internet.

Andrew had posted this previously which might help your situation as well until this is straightened out once and for all..............

I figured out how to get around their online payment system. Since they block it once you start a modification. Go to CheckFree Corporation - CheckFree is now part of Fiserv.. I do use this for other bills and had it for countrywide. And since my modification I have been using it to make payments. usually when you send a payment it shows on countrywide web site the same day 12pm EST. in your transaction history. then you also have the proof of payment through checkfrees site too.

Thanks, ***. I found it. But i would have to wait 2 business days. I guess I have to wait for my bank to open tomorrow and send in a cashier's check. This is sooooo inconvenient.
