this is my countrywide story.....

this is my story. my husband and i have been trying to get our loan modified. at first, we fell behind because he got laid off. when we could afford the payments we paid but it was not enough to be current, so we tried to reach countrywide at all measures till they put us in foreclosure saying we never tried to contact them. From then i learned something to tape all the conversations i have had with them. then we signed a repayment agreement that was suppose to be temporary until our modification was approved, never happened. next thing i new i finished the repayment agreement with them and i was still not current. i was at my last so i hired a financial company to get my loan out of foreclosure and they did, they agreed with countrywide to start another repayment agreement except this time it was a repayment to mod. which meant that after we finished the repayment agreement then they would start our loan modification. So we did. Then they never started any paperwork towards the loan modification. so i called and called. no negotiator was ever assigned for months. the reps, all those india reps could tell me was to hold on to the funds for the down payment for the modification. so i did... i called some more... to no avail. Finally, this month i am currently 10 months behind and now my loan is under review for modification. i have recieved one letter saying i have to pay almost 50000 by aug.8 2008 in order for them not to accelerate the foreclosure proceedings, but i am under review and everything is suspended until july 28, 08. i have no where close to that money and i am barely surviving. any suggestions on what to do? i have read all the posts and i have done almost everything, but if there is something new i can do to save my house plz tell me. i would really like to know.

helpmeplz,

It sounds like you may need to get a Real Estate Attorney involved.

What type of loan are you in?
What is your current rate, loan amount and regular payment?
Where is the property located?

Re: this is my countrywide story.....

i have since got approved for my loan modification and have started making my payment regularly since Sept. 1 2008. It took me one year to get my modification done and i am grateful for the support of this website. with all your help i have been one of the lucky ones that get to keep my home. thank you all for your help. and if you are going through what i went through my best suggestion is to call and keep calling and and pray because this is what helped me to stay sane and win this fight against countrywide. Remember that the one above is powerful more than any company on earth. I will be up dating from time to time. Hope everyone gets through with their mortgages just like me.
