I am new to the forum and so glad I have found a place to vent about
CW and their non-existent customer service. We have been working on a loan mod since Oct 07. In Dec. 07 we were approved for a partial claim...sent in paperwork 3 times, of which
CW lost bits and pieces of it snd had to keep re-sending.
CW called me on Dec 12, 2007 to let me know they were STILL missing some paperwork. I didn't call them back until the next week due to my grandma passing away on Dec. 12, 2007. They told me since they didn't hear back from me, the partial claim was cancelled and we could either pay $10,000 (amount we are in arrears) or foreclose. A week later rec'd foreclosure papers. I called Consumer Credit Counseling and seh got a HUD rep involved and we were able to go back into the loan workout dept. We had to pay Jan, Feb, and Mar payments and then they would decide what we would be approved for. Called, called, called...kept telling me someone was working on it...told me to hold April payment...FINALLY got a call yesterday and a loan mod has been approved BUT we have to pay one payment (fine, no big deal), as well as $2,300 in atty fees/late fees all by Wed. (5/28). I was livid. Originally, I was told all fees could be rolled into the note and the most we would have to pay would be one month payment. Yes, we had a hardship, we have worked through it and thought we were close to being at the end of this fiasco.
CW said we can't roll the fees and if we can't wire the $$ by Wed, the loan mod would be cancelled and we would have to start the process over...are you kiddng me?!?!?! we have done everything
CW has asked (and more since everything we have done, we have had to do 3 times). Now, we are going to face foreclosure cuz we have no means of coming up with $2,300 in atty fees. I called CCCS again and she got NOWHERE with
CW so she has called a HUD rep who will get involved asap and try to expedite a resolution on Tues. However, that is one day before
CW wants all the $$.....has anyone run into this? We are so close to saving our home but it seems like
CW is just concerned with trying to get it back. Do these lenders WANT the homeowners to keep their homes, or is it better for them to foreclose??? Any advise is greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
