Question Notary Appointment for HAMP, are we there yet?

I got a call from BAC today to set up an appointment to sign our permanent mod docs. We've made 5 "trial" payments as of the first of this month, so we've been waiting anxiously to hear something. This was great news, to hear that progress is being made. I guess a notary is going to come to our house next week to get it all done.

Does this mean we're done? Any others been through this or know the next step?

Re: Notary Appointment for HAMP, are we there yet?

I'm almost afraid to get too excited. We applied for HAMP for the first time in March, only to be given the run around for several months, before being told that we didn't qualify (which was bull). FINALLY, in July, after countless phonecalls, and more paperwork, we got our trial mod docs and that whole thing was also a big headache. We've sent and resent paperwork I don't even know how many times since then, too. So if this really ends smoothly, I'd be over the moon. But I'm not going to hold my breath. Haha

When your Notary comes, be sure he/she has a STAMP OR EMBOSSED SEAL! I received my final Mod paperwork and the Notary at my Bank used a Sticker, which alot of them do now. B/A returned the entire thing saying they do not accept Stickers from Notaries. I ran out to find another Notary, haven't heard what else they have found wrong yet!

Ugh! I didn't even notice what he used, I was in such awe that somebody really showed up with the final docs. He came to our house, we didn't go to him. BAC sent him. Is that the case with yours?

What happened with your loan after they didn't accept the docs? Did you get it straightened out?

Re: Notary Appointment for HAMP, are we there yet?

No, I went to a Notary at my bank. When she notarized it, I again asked her to check to see that everything was ok, as I have been struggling with CW and BOA for almost a year. She said everything was fine, they will accept this. Then I get the papers back from BOA, rejected. Since I got a new Notary with a stamp and returned the papers, can't get anything out of the HOPE team as to whether the Review Team has accepted it. Another JUST WAIT and make your payments answer. So I guess that's what I'll do, don't have much choice.

Re: Notary Appointment for HAMP, are we there yet?

My state, AZ, moved away from the "seals" years ago and no longer considers documents notarized with a seal to be valid.

They now use stamps.

I suspect a lot of states may have made the same move.

It sounds like whomever is handling your file may be unfamiliar with the differing requirements per state.
